Hi hi.. mine is on December 1.. I'm pretty nervous about it and got pre-OP anxiety .. I'm very afraid of general anaesthesia ..eventhough deep down I know it's nothing.. like everyone has been telling me It's like dreaming.. and I am afraid of pain and complications too .. like gallbladder stones.. I mean I'm only 24.. well ,soon to be 25 lolol (my bd is on december too😁) just thinking about removing my GB at such young age scares me a lot...but overall I think it's worth it ; to have a healthy body and dress pretty too, not just some oversized sh..t😅 plus no more of those people judging you when you pass🤦

If you think about the results it's worth it... that's what I'm telling my self too🤓♥

I'm a week post Op and have been dealing with nightmares ever since.. rn i woke up after having a nightmare ... a very vivid dream like it's actually happening.. sometimes it's stupid but still happens to scare me in my dream..my Heart rate is so high rn... except from general anaesthesia, and acetaminophen (iv and supp) I haven't had any other meds.. I'm so scared so will they go away? If so, when? 😭😭😭

Very interesting! Ya the spider stress dreams sound awful! Lol. I think when I'm stressed I normally dream about killing someone and needed to find a place to hide their body. That's one dream that I have a lot ever since I was a child. I'm sure it symbolizes something, just not sure what.

Thanks everyone! Well I'm off all my pain meds now and I feel great! My dream are still very vivid and odd but the last 2 weren't as scary. Hopefully it's improving, only time will tell! Thanks for the replies, I greatly appreciate them all!

Back about 15 yrs ago when I took Darvocet for period cramps, I always had vivid nightmares. Called them "Darvocet Dreams". Think they come with pain meds.
Hard time remembering back to my sleeve revision (10 mths ago) but I think I did have a few nightmares following surgery.

Your brain is reacting to a cocktail of hormones that were triggered by the surgery.... Mostly stress hormones, but also the hormones that promote healing and tissue regeneration. Your brain isn't used to this stuff!! Your stomach is sending out SOS calls, and your brain doesn't know what to make of it all.
Night terrors are actually different - they aren't dreams at all, they happen in a different phase of sleep.... But nightmares (bad dreams) can be really unsettling!! My stress-dreams usually involve me covered in spiders/spider webs because cortisol makes my skin crawly. Lovely huh?

I been having them too and some people from my Facebook group had then too! I don't take medication for pain and I'm two weeks out! Good luck and hope this dreams go away soon!

Emarie07, I have had them too. Very vivid, bold and disgustingly frightening. I do hope these will go away soon. They are like the night terrors that the children have.

I remember someone saying a while ago this is related to the anesthesia or pain medicine used for surgery and/or recovery. It should work itself out soon.

Every single time I've slept since surgery I've had completely random and vivid nightmares. They can go from horrifying to just odd and scary. They never make any sense. At first I just dealt with it and now I'm sick of it. It's getting so old. Has anyone dealt with this too?

Because other's dont have the right to meddle, it is YOUR decision to make and no one have the right to judge you because they don't know our struggles in society... we know how good can a food tastes like, we know what they don't know.. but we also found out how to cherish our body and mind more.. our body before was screaming for help and now we're gonna help it. So don't let them scare you off . You're doing this for YOU! Not them.. cuz they dunno anything.. and if getting a healthy body and mind and losing some lbs changes you, I'm sure it's toward getting even more awesome! No worries my friend! Getting moody might happen in first few weeks but u must keep looking at it goal, good luck~♥♥♥

This is still knocking the hell out of me - I was weak and drained for 60 days, However after i Screwed up post op i got my stuff togethor on the Vitamins and minerals and balanced out. You may have your supplements messed up and it is not the surgery it is the lack of nutrients. I just did a post yesterday on this exact subject read it. I was focused on losing weight and did not realize i was nutrient deficient. Once i got that balanced work was a ton easier

Hey there. I had my surgery last week (October 8th) coming out of surgery there was a small bit of pain but my health care team really stayed on it along with any nausea that I had. This particular hospital had its patients on full fluids the next day. I spent two nights in for safety sake. I was sent home with pain medication that I did not need. My energy has been great, no pain at all being home. I am able to get 50-60 gm of Protein and am up to my 1.5L a day for Water. I take rests if need but so far activity wise I am able to go on 4-5000 step walks once a day on top of regular puttering around the house. I’m already driving and have lost 25lbs between pre op diet and being home. I have no co morbidities (perfect bloodwork, no diabetes, heart issues, blood pressure issues) I am a very healthy, soon not be over weight person. Remember to Celebrate your small victories, because the many small ones lead to big ones. You have already done the hard part and that’s admitting that you like I needed help to loss weight. Keep your chin up and this wonderful gift gives you what you give it. I won’t wish you luck because it’s not luck it’s work. Work hard, stay positive and before you know it you’ll be strutting down the street like the world is your runway! Cheers.
