Yep some foods work some do not - I heave out a few times a week - I keep trying different foods to see if they are ok - Most of the time yes but a few - Wow comes right back up

For example i tried to eat Gyro meat a few days ago - Came flying back up - Used to eat this all the time pre OP

It's crazy how different we all are. I had fyro meat 3 weeks post op during my soft food phase. Loved it.

    Staples? Where are they?

No staples in me you see, laparoscopy wounds are usually just stitched because they are small.

This is the sleeve forum so I assume they are referring to how they make the sleeve from the stomach.

  3. If you're getting your Protein and Water in then yes, this is the normal 2-5 week stall. Can happen anytime in there. My weight loss slowed (but didn't stall) to 1-2 pounds a week during that time. I'd be the exact same weight 2 or 3 or even 4 days in a row (down to the tenth) and then I'd lose 1 pound. Did that for about 3 weeks and lost 6 pounds over 3 days over Thanksgiving. Now I'm back to about a pound a day.

All that to say, this is normal. You'll make it through. Yours might be a little longer since you're just now integrating normal foods.

How many carbs do you eat? I hit a stall when I was avoiding carbs and decided to add a bit more in each day and I've been consistently losing 3-5lbs a week on average since then with no more stalls. I had the same problem when I tried losing weight before surgery too.

How many grams of carbs are you getting in a day? And how many total calories?

  5. I do a premier shake every morning. I don't do Breakfast other than the weekends or for dinner lol.

For lunch I need to do better but I have some packaged "add Water and microwave" meals from bariatric pal. Sometimes I have leftovers from dinner. Doing a lot of diced pre-cooked chicken, burgers, etc. Stuff that's easy to heat and eat at work.

For dinner I have some great meatballs from trader joes, fish nuggets from trader joes, sometimes another shake if I worked out hard and want to hit 100 grams of Protein that day. Tonight is leftover spicy pork from my ramen on Sunday and I'll mix it with a serving of Unjury Chili. Should be really good!

  6. I think the headache is from being slightly dehydrated. And no, I don't think dumping can be delayed. Dumping is from your gallbladder dumping a ton of bile into the small intestine because you consume something sugary or fatty and your gallbladder thinks you're about to eat a big meal so it thinks you need all the bile! Well as we know none of us eat big meals so all that bile goes straight through you, causing dumping. So I don't see how that could delay.

Not sure how many carbs you are eating but if you reach the maximum carbs plus 70 grams of Protein that's 840 calories and if you consume some fats (which I assume you would be in some foods), your calorie intake is going to be a lot greater than 700 calories.

No. Protein and Carbs are both 4 calories per gram. 40 g carbs = 160 calories, 70 g protein = 280 == 440 calories total. As I track things I haven't had a problem getting to 70 protein, staying under 40 carbs and stopping around 700 total calories.

Ive been able to eat rice, bread and Pasta almost as soon as I was given the green light on regular food. I have also only lost 80 pounds in 10 months. I wish now that my team had been more restrictive and banned these things as I might have had a different result. I do feel like a failure seeing other people lose tons of weight much faster than I have. I dont pig out on this stuff but I also have never had the blessing of reduced hunger so I'm hungry every 2 hours. Its just infuriating honestly. I would like to have reached my goal by now. It really sucks that i havent

I don't think your team banning or not banning foods is the issue. It's up to you what you put in your mouth, no matter what's on your plan.

I'm 7 weeks out and I have hunger too but I'm working through it. It's possible. And you're not done either! You can reset your stomach or go back to basics or increase your exercise!

YALL!!!! OK, I am hoping someone can give me some advice. I was banded in 2009, lost 100 pounds, was at my goal weight for about 9 years. Then around Christmas of last year, I started having trouble keeping ANYTHING down. My surgeon said the band was properly placed and had not slipped. He removed all of the Fluid from my band and I gained 40 pounds in a matter of months. My insurance finally approved a revision and I had that done 4 days ago. I had no real pain, just some gas pain in my shoulder and neck. They laid out these tiny little cups and told me to "sip sip sip every 15 minutes". It didn't take long before I had both small bottles of Water drank. I was released the next day and was able to drink 2 cups of beef broth, I ate an entire cup of sugar free jello---last night I ate an entire can of thinned down cream of chicken Soup in the amount of time it would take someone who had not had bariatric surgery. I have not had my post-op follow up yet but my mom had the VSG about 18 months ago and she can only eat about a cup of food. She told me it took her an entire day to drink 1/2 of a Protein Shake. My goal weight is 145 and I am currently 169. (I am within a normal BMI and have no co-morbidity factors but the revision was approved because of all of the issues I was having with the band.) My fear is that surgeon might have been super conservative and made my sleeve/pouch larger than it should be because I don't have a ton of weight to lose. I am just hoping that someone reading this had a similar experience but felt restricted once solid foods were reintroduced. I feel like this surgery might have been a waste of time. Is there anyone out there that was successful after not having drinking limitations immediately following surgery?

First there's no need to keep reposting this on multiple posts - just once or make a post your own.

Second - don't think that because you have no restriction now that its broken. I remembered thinking the same thing and then I sat down to attempt to eat my first egg. Didn't get the whole thing in lol.

That said I think that doing what you're doing will cause you to fail, if i can be frank. Stick to the portion sizes you were given.

Yeahhhh, lmao. My brain is fried from the holiday season and my husband refuses to wear anything of the sort, so sweatpants didn't even cross my mind. 😂 I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of office wear or things to wear out that doesn't look quite as casual. I have so many leggings that would pass as acceptable at the office, do men have an alternative like that? There probably is, if I'm being honest, I'm pretty clueless about fashion.

For a normal work casual office? No, not really. Guys don't have anything that would work that I know of. My joggers and athletic pants wouldn't pass. Luckily I work in a very casual office (shorts and sandals in the summer all the time) so I can get away with it.

I agree its low but I am on a mission to get this down and off of me. I do not struggle at all because I really have a hard time eating, So to avoid the pain i just simply do not eat. I have a nutritionist that is busting my ass to get the calories up.

I realize by the first of the year i have to get the count up but riding the journey down as long as i can. I am addicted to supplements, Vitamins and minerals and really feel good, so this calorie thing for me is actually kinda easy.

Big fear is when i do bump up calories that i put on weight -

I think (and hope) your big fear is unfounded. Anything under 1200 cals for guys tends to put and keep us in starvation mode so I feel pretty confident that we need to hit that or more to be in maintenance and would need to go even higher to start gaining weight. Will the loss slow down as we go up in cals? Of course! But not to the point of gain?

They need to make leggings and jeggings for men because I am pretty sure that's what I'll be living in until I hit goal 🤣 I'm not even sure what pants size I wear right now because I've only bought leggings! I want to lose a little bit more before I go trying on jeans to size them! I did just buy two shirts that I really like, so I'm hoping they'll at least look good through the winter.

I feel like my eyesight has gotten worse, so I am so jealous!!

Congratulations on your successes! Keep up the hard work!

I bought some athletic pants and joggers and I'm wearing them a ton haha
