Well, that is the truth, I've seen moderators chastizing for a lot less than that, maybe we should all start telling each other to shut up and jump in the lake and see how long it goes before someone gets suspended? Give me a break.... Passionate, frustrated, I'm sure we all have felt that way many times, being rude and disrespectful is a different story... if someone can't at least respect others, then they don't even belong on the Rants and Raves... :biggrin:

Listen Laurend, I know it's easier said than done, but it will get better and it could be worst, really, hang in there and could you look into tutoring maybe? Maybe I missunderstood it, I'm not going to not vote for him based on his name, but based on a lot of other issues of course, but I guess I felt the need to say that I really don't like that name, it has nothing to do with him being black or male or female, however his name does get under my skin... hope that doesn't make me a bigot, if it does, then I'll live with it.

Please don't be sorry, it's a good thing that we agreed on not participating in a discussion or argument.... definitely a good thing... And please know that when I argue or debate an issue, I don't do it to try to convince anyone of anything, God knows nobody would convince me of anything, I have to do that on my own...so I don't try to do it to others... when I debate an issue is to put my views out there and exchange different opinions about it and learn about other people's views, actually, most of the times I end up even firmer about my own views after a debate... I'm sorry about your loss, I haven't lost someone i Iraq, but do know more than one person who were/are serving there, they are very proud to be there doing what they are doing and very proud of what they have accomplished. My father was a WWII veteran, I've learned a little bit about war, I'm aware it's nothing to enjoy, sometimes it has been necessary, unfortunately.

I really don't think that anybody here is trying to post political propaganda and pass them off as the gospel.... I very much disagree with that, I believe that we are all adults here and with at least some decent degree of intelligence that gets us debating on important issues, so why would anybody think that they are going to fool others with "political propaganda" I find that absurd... Republicans are experts at misdirecting our attention to a person or behavior that is not relevant to the real question. That's why they're so good at winning political races - in spite of their performance in office. The above comment is just plain funny to me... it seems as a desperate attempt to defend your views by attacking the other party...? wth?

Thank you for the info and I totally agree... You know, GW may or may not be the environmental crisis of the next century, but regardless of whether it is or isn't, in my opinion, really not much will done about it. We may argue over it and may even make some solemn sounding commitments to avoid it, but the more dramatic and meaningful these commitments seem, I think the less likely they are to be observed, frankly I personally think little will be done. . . . I think GW will become a good source of national hypocrisy. I for one certainly refuse to join the hysteria at this point since I'm certainly not convinced or anywhere near being convinced right now. Sure, nothing wrong to live a "green" lifestyle, if that's ok with you, but I wish nobody was trying to force it on me unless they were absolutely sure, so I guess I don't want to have to give up so many things that I enjoy just in case.... not really... :biggrin:
