LastChance57 reacted to Pam Peltz in I need to learn all I can about the RNY quickly
RNY cures gerd. Sleeve does not. RNY best thing I ever did for myself. Did it at 60 years old and am 6 months post op. 3 pounds to go before I'm below 200 and I'm doing my second 5k tomorrow night! Not one regret.

I'm 43 female. I started in February 2019 at 311 lbs. RNY on July 3, 2019 at 281 lbs. Currently, I'm down to 215 😊
I exercise every day and I'm pretty good watching my calories, Protein, and carbs, and Water.

Well I'm 49 and I had GB March 23 2019 starting weight 274 now Im at 193 so it's coming off slow but steady, but I'm not exercising like I should either. All in all I'm happy with my loss and I'm still losing every week.

@Mikeyy No offense but I'm asking females only and I specified that in the title. I obviously understand about starting weight, BMI, etc. I was looking for motivation. I don't want to hear how men lose 100 lbs in two months, okay..thanks........

Instead of making a new thread for each of my quandaries and appointments, I'm just going to post here. lol.
My home equity loan is approved! I go for closing on Friday. I have $40,000 dedicated solely to plastics, but I don't intend to spend more than 20K.
I have my consult with my surgeon on August 16th for an arm lift and Tummy Tuck and to do something about my "side boob" area. They WILL do a tummy tuck and arm lift simultaneously.
TO BE CONTINUED! I AM SO PSYCHED! AUGUSSSTTT!!

@Ren951 Also remember, just because the calendar says it's time to move on to the next phase doesn't mean your stomach is ready. You may have to stay in a phase longer than planned because your stomach is ultimately the boss!

If my two cents is worth anything, I would say definitely continue with the therapy. Then maybe try writing your non-scale victories (NSV) in a notebook. Maybe as you see the list of NSV's increase it will help you recognize the benefits of the surgery from the health and lifestyle aspect.

Wow-30lbs lost already, that is awesome! I have my pre-op diet appt starting on Friday and am going to get myself prepped this week. I have cut out my Diet Coke addiction but still am struggling with drinking at meals too. Need to find a trick to get myself to stop it. I did not have to do a monitored diet of any sort for my insurance and I am thinking that was a mistake! We will see how much I can lose in the next 5 days.

55 pounds in first 2 months. RNY. I also focused a lot on exercise - walking, wall push ups, then stairs, then light weights, then a leg routine and stretches. Now biking and swimming and entering a triathlon this coming Saturday! Woo hoo!

Wow!!! That IS amazing! You have to be so proud of yourself. What surgery did you get? I am getting RNY. I cannot wait to experience every single thing you listed. Thank you for the lift. Of those 100, how much did you lose in the first 2 months?

LastChance57 reacted to Cherylmilla in October 2019 surgery peeps?
I cut the diet soda, and that wasn't too hard, but I know how hard it is for so many. I will miss the occasional indulge in it though. I have heard different things about carbonated beverages. Since I'm not crazy about them, I plan to stay away. I'm trying to stay as low in calories as I can, without going overboard, so that the pre-op diet won't be too hard. Some days are easy, others are a struggle and I want to eat everything. The days I'm home all day are the worst, so I try to keep busy as much as humanly possible (without neglecting my home, LOL). I find I don't get hungry cooking, so meal prep is a good at-home activity for me. TV, as with most people, is my worst time. I have cut down on my TV. I try and walk or whatever instead.
You will do amazing! We all will
Whoever says this is all easy.......they have no idea!

I look forward to continuing the countdown with you. I've lost 30 lbs as of today. I'm counting calories and watching sugar/carb intake on my own. I am eating slow and trying not to have liquids with my meals and having loads of Protein (no liquids with meals is HARD). I am ready for whatever the nutritionist will do to help (I have three of those appointments in total, and did the first...my next is 9/12).
Good luck to you and I hope to see you on here
