PlanetHopper got a reaction from osherz in Unsupportive Boyfriend
So I started reading your post, and this was the first thing I noticed. I had to stop and start responding right away. This is a RED FLAG. This decision was not about him, it was for you.
A lot of people who are uninformed about the surgery say this. Every person that has ever had bariatric surgery knows that it isn't true.
I am very sorry to hear that he does not support you with your decision. I hope you remember that this decision wasn't about him. The fact that he continues to demand an explanation of how this will benefit him is a bad sign.
I am very proud of you for doing what is best for you. I hope you continue with doing so because your life isn't about anyone but you and thus you should try your best to make decisions that result in your own happiness even if it means leaving people behind. ❤️

PlanetHopper got a reaction from Tomo in Revision from sleeve to RNY
Did you have success after revision? From my understanding, having the revision is not as effective as the first surgery that was done. Did you experience this?

PlanetHopper got a reaction from BayougirlMrsS in I’ve always wanted??!! What are yours?
I've always wanted to feel attractive.
I've always wanted to be a normal weight for my height.
I've always wanted relief from chronic pain syndrome. (This has not been resolved by the weight loss )

PlanetHopper got a reaction from Dubai2020 in My operation after 2 days
During my first two days after VSG, I did a lot of sleeping. My surgery was in the morning. Once I woke up I spent most of my time coming out of anesthesia. I recall going in and out of sleep for a while. I walked around a lot. I wasn't able to sleep that night because they were pumping me full of liquids and I had to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so. I don't think that happens to everyone. I personally did experience extreme pain outside of the gas pain that everyone talks about. The pain I had was not in my chest or shoulders, it was in my abdomen. From what I have read, everyone experiences a different level of pain. The next day I went home and slept a lot for the next 3-4 days. I would get up and take short walks around my apartment and immediately sit back down. I was very tired all the time. I was off my pain prescription after the third day.
Drink as much as you can, but know that you may not hit the 60 oz goal immediately after surgery. Just do your best and you will be fine.

I agree with these for sure. I wish I would have purchased liquid vitamins.
Yessss! I love this positive answer and I totally second it.

PlanetHopper got a reaction from Recidivist in After Surgery Things
This was also me. For the first couple days, I was extremely tired and could not focus on anything for very long. I slept most of the time. After about a week, I could stay up for a while but would require a nap. I mostly watched TV and slept.

PlanetHopper reacted to catwoman7 in Question
most of lose between 15-25 lbs the first month (a few more or less - but most are within that range), so you are doing just fine!
-
PlanetHopper reacted to catwoman7 in How often do you weigh?
I weighed daily the first three years or so and then switched to once a week. In maintenance (as long as you're staying in maintenance, that is...) you're pretty much bouncing up and down the same 3 or 4 lbs all the time, so it gets frustrating. I just weigh myself once a week now and jump into action if I get out of my acceptable range.

How about a positive answer? I wish I had known how much fun being a normal weight would be!😁
Or that I can finally look good in clothes!

PlanetHopper got a reaction from Embody in What do you wish you had known
I wish I would have known that dumping syndrome can happen even if you get the VSG. It's happened to me, multiple times. I also wish I would have been less scared of loose skin and excess hair shedding and went for Bypass.
