  1. My awakening happened when I just decided to stop dieting. It didn't work. Loose 2 lbs., gain 4. Just rediculous. Then when I heard about the lap band I got interested. I took me 11 months to come to this decision but I made it. Now I'm praying for a Sept. surgery date and looking forward for me and the band to become best buddies.
  2. Wonderful!! Tell us more......
  3. I haven't been banded yet but I am sold on the idea. As the other posters said this is a tool. What great things can be done with the right tools!! A good food plan, the right tools, exercise, and this web site will help you succeed. Good luck and keep posting and reading.
  4. I'm sending you congrats from my feet up. Good job. Any hints or suggestions (specifically what you ate) you can share with us unbanded folks? I just can't wait for this.
  5. Ohhhhhhh, I'm so jealous! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!! (But I know I have too.)
  6. The word Bajanor. Good luck!!
  7. Google this term and you will come up with tons of info.
  8. Janet, How wonderful for you and for all of us! You sharing your story, your pictures, and accomplishments are helpful and supportive. I will write the same story one day.
  9. Just a thought. What do you want your goal weight to be? When would you like this? Maybe you can take the 85 lbs. and divide it by the number of weeks you have to get to your goal date. Example: loose 85 lbs by June 2009. That's 50 weeks from now. Loose 1.7 per week or 6.9 lbs per month and you'll reach goal by June 2009. BEST of luck to you!!
  10. Life is tuff but God is tuffer. Let's all pray for each other and enjoy God's roller coaster.
  11. Jennifer, you don't suck. Your right, it takes time. My nutritionist stressed PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE. Have the right things in the house that you can grab if you feel yourself falling into bad habits. Do you have a "band buddy"? I'm not banded yet but I do. And she's not banded either. Keep on moving forward and keep on reading this board. If your head is in a winning place, your body will follow.
  12. Yea!! Please keep us posted.
  13. This might not belong on the board, so please accept it as a shout out of support through this time. When I think things are lost I say a prayer to St. Anthony (patron Saint of lost items). It helps.
  14. lol! A poster after my own heart!! I haven't been banded yet, but my nutritionist told me absolutly NO BEER! So, my husband told me I'll just have to change my drink to whiskey!!
  15. Well, had my nutrition consult and psych eval today! Both went well (yea!!). I taked up this web site and the nutritionist and psychologist both wrote it down so they could pass it onto other potential banders. Both women were impressed with what I knew. I have you guys to thank for that. Now for the colonoscopy and to make sure my ins pays for this, then it will be time to set the date. Whoo-Hoo, can't wait!!
  16. Very happy for you!! Hope all goes well. As a non-banded person, I rely on the banded folks here for info about pre-op and post-op steps. Please keep us posted.
  17. Whoo Hoo!! I'm back. Now I know how to follow posts!! So, Jbrod, how you doing?
  18. Good for you!! I'd love to follow your posts, but I haven't been able to figure out once I log out how I find the post when I log in again
  19. Well, God bless you with continued good health and good focus. Would you mind sharing how you did this? I'm interested in everything from pre-op liquid diet to post-op mushie food. What did you drink/eat? Any pain? How do you keep going for one whole year? Again, CONGRADULATIONS!! Keep up the good work!!!
  20. I didn't read all the threads, so maybe someone already asked this question; why the heck is this here? What does this have to do with Lap Banding? Who wants to know and why? What do you need to know this information for? I want to loose weight safely and I'm here for support and to share anything I learn along the way. What does that have to do with abortion?
  21. I'm from Central NJ and a secretary. Had an appointment with my general practioner yesturday. The doctor said he was all for this!! Whoo-Hoo!! He said he'd write the letters for the insurance company and fax them to the surgeons office. Sooo, I'm getting closer!! I probably won't be a Jazzy Juner but I still wish everyone the best of luck and great results.
  22. Cramadan, What flavor Isopure did you like best? Did you use it with water or milk? I think it comes it powder form also. Can you mix that with yogert when your allowed "mushie" food?
  23. Thanks Denise! Appreciate your help. I like the cottage cheese/yogurt combo idea. Will give it a try!!
  24. I don't have a myspace account. Why did this pop-up on my post?
  25. Hi, just got off the chat room and picked-up two good suggestions about my pre-op liquid diet. One was a toddler size spoon to help with smaller portions, and the other was some Atkin protein drink. Any other suggestions? I'd like to do a test run to see how committed to this program I'm going to be. Thanks alot!!
