Some people in the forums have had this problem. Do you have a care team (with a nutritionist)? If so, I would definitely give them a call/visit. I had mine last week and I was able to talk over major/minor concerns about where I was and how I was doing. The greatest thing was talking through the next month with them. This isn't the surgeon's office, but a supplemental group that was given to me by the hospital I had my surgery. I met with them before the surgery, as well.

Keep your eye on the prize (as they say), which is a healthier YOU! If you have Facebook, there are groups on there as well. I love watching these videos on YouTube by Dr. Vuong...He keeps it real (always follow your doctor's orders), but he has some great things about pre and post surgery. I was sleeved on 7/22 and have mind-hunger and other things that people seem to have on here, but I am keeping afloat! Good luck!

My husband was completely honest with me on our first date. He was 2 years out but his diet was still restrictive. I guess I admired his immediate honesty. It wasn't a big deal to me, if anything i was proud of him. I would have kinda a annoyed of he would have later, all of a sudden came clean.

On the other hand I'm a really private person and have a really hard time being open to coworkers, clients, and non immediate family members.

I kind of judge guys on the kinds of dates they take me on. If I'm not asking, I shouldn't have to plan. If a guy can't come up with a good date that allows me to actually get to know him and he isn't trying to impress me, there is no future in the relationship.
I'm saying it like that because I want someone that is active and likes doing activities and doesn't plan dates that revolve around meals, which is boring to me. I was like this with dating before surgery. I want to do an activity so I can make a judgement on their personality. dinner is too easy/boring.
Anyway, I like concerts and outdoor events. I get to evaluate how they act in public, how they react to crowds, if they will protect me and treat me like a lady, how good they are with parking and other things. Basically I can see how the act under slight pressure, early on, without having to date them and waste my time.
Also you kind of can't plan a date for a man because you don't know their finances. How creative they are with a date tells you a lot about them.

I'm a dressing person too The more vinegretty, the better.
Here is my go-to vinegrette recipe that I make in batches of and keep in fridge. It is based on the recipe from this link (https://www.thespruceeats.com/low-calorie-asian-salad-dressing-2238967) , but with my own substitutions to make it lower-cal:
Serving: 1 tablespoon (7 cals, 1 NET carb)
    1/2 cup vegetable broth
    1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons bragg's liquid soy seasoning
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    1 teaspoon stevia
    1 teaspoon minced garlic
    1/2 teaspoon ginger (ground)
    1 lime (juice)
(sometimes I'll add come chopped up jalapeño for some kick, or up the vinegar content a bit)

Don't judge...but I've trained myself to really love some of the Walden Farms zero cal dressings.
    Italian Vinaigrette
    Asian Vinaigrette
    Sesame Ginger Vinaigrette
    Balsamic Vinaigrette
And I can spice up some so they are "ok":
    Thousand Island
    French
    Cocktail Sauce
    Bacon Ranch
    Blue Cheese
    Chipotle Ranch

And if I add extra Bragg's vinegar, I like the Amazin' mayo in both regular and chipotle. I also add more spices. The trade off is no extra calories for the moisture. Better living through chemistry...just sayin...

Thanks! The people that post to this app have been inspirational for me. My weight loss was slower than most, but loss is loss (I did have some gain along the way and also had to put a dog down for the first time in my life). My daughters dog, Remi will forever be in my heart. I called her my obesity dog because she really liked going for walks with me. Our vet did everything they could. When I do leave this world I want it to be as peaceful and calm as her passing. Anyhow, I have responded to some questions, but just wanted to say thanks to all that have responded to mine. It really made a difference in my life and health.

So lets do a face to face Friday! I also had some non-scale victories this week. My daughters teacher from the last 2 years did not recognize me! And my fitbit is on the last notch so I need to get a size small band now! Geez I really hate the older picture. I can finally stand to have my picture taken now though!

This morning there are no less than 4 whiny posts about totally normal progressions in this surgery. Did everyone think this was easy, no pain, no concessions re: food/eating? Seriously? We had big time billy badass surgerys cuz we were fuc*ing morbidly obese or super morbidly obese. In order to change our physical reality, there WILL be pain, there WILL be deprivation, there WILL be dying to our basic food instincts and short term cravings. There has to be in order to realize long term success. Now is the time to seize the day and embrace the suck cuz it will net you extraordinary advantages in the first 2 months if you work it baby. Work it like a street corner on a busy Saturday night!

    I’m about 5 months out.

So I used to used smooth love tea which worked! But it comes with cramps and discomfort in my lower abdomen. The last two weeks. I’ve been drinking straight up celery juice in the morning and it’s worked wonders for me. I have regular BMs and I don’t have abdominal discomfort. 💩

Remember you don't need to finish all of it, that was the hardest part for me to learn. Also listen to your body, I have learned when approaching fullness my nose gets a sniffle and that's the sign for me to stop. 👍

My dentist talked to me about this before surgery. She said that acid from our stomachs get worse after the surgery and can cause this. She gave me a special toothpaste to try to alleviate it. I go back on Tuesday and will keep you all posted!

my dentist said he's never personally seen dental issues in his patients who've had WLS, although he'd read about issues in the professional literature. Also, I've been on these internet forums for at the last five years or so, and I only see posts about tooth problems maybe twice a year, so my assumption is, although it can happen, it's pretty uncommon. My dentist gave me a prescription for some super-high fluoride toothpaste to use before I go to bed, though, and he puts a fluoride varnish on my teeth twice a year at my appts. He said that should go a long way toward preventing any potential issues.

I was sleeved a day after you and 1000 calories does seem like a lot to me this soon. I'm probably hitting almost 500 calories I'm usually in the high 400's. But it could just be my clinic's standard. In the weightloss faze they want you to stick to 600-800 calories a day when you start soft/regular foods. I would eat until you're satisfied not full. So eat until you're like ok I dont have that starving feeling anymore. I too am hungry all the time I would say every 2-3hrs. I started out with 2oz of food and this week moved myself up to 2.5-3oz of food. Just be cautious as you're still healing and leaks scare me lol! I would talk to your nutritionist for sure and make sure your hunger is actual hungry and not head hunger. Cause i definitely suffer from head hunger and I definitely want to eat more, but my stomach is like "Hoooldddd up sister, this ain't gonna happen" lol.

My friend (she a surgerical tech) just told me about this guy that came in and he had to have emergency surgery because he busted through his staples by eating a whole pizza after his surgery. [emoji53]

For y’all who don’t feel the restriction don’t worry it’s COMING. On liquids I never felt it. The veterans here say that you won’t feel it with “slider” foods. But when you get to softs and start bringing in regular foods TRUST me you will feel it. If you eat fast it’s worse I’ve learned my lesson. In one bite you gonfrom I’m fine to omg i need to puke some of this out or if you’re going to fast it’s like a punch in the chest lol I learned real quick that I needed to SLOW DOWN and pay attention

Too each their own on working out. I don’t judge if people choose to not exercise, moderate or become athletic.
All surgeon’s fitness instructions are different. Do you have your surgeons’ instructions yet?
My surgeons’ instructions: Walk the day after surgery to help the healing process and build up to walking for an hour. When I was released to lift. I started at the gym doing cardio and lifting. My fitness progressed from there. I'm a sleeve and got to goal in six months. I did exercise right after surgery and lost weight.
None of this is a one size fits all bariatric instruction. Do what work’s for you and trust your medical team.
