14 days post-op and I’m smiling! Was NOT looking forward to the purée phase, BUT..got my little 4 oz cup from Walmart (the devil) and found this recipe for Italian chicken Purée..of course, I cooked my sauce with some seasoning

I am 6 months post op and only my husband and children knows. I am 82 pounds down and I am sure it's noticeable. I seen my sister the other day and she asked me what i am smoking[emoji23]. However truth be told I wish I had the gusto to tell others sometimes for me( support, accountability ect.) But also for them who may, just may be open to the idea of the life saving sleeve for them selves. But call me crazy because I sometimes don't want a single soul to know. For fear of failure, wanna keep it to myself so all the haters(secret) stumble. Lol. I kinda don't want them to know what hit em'. [emoji38]

Head hunger sucks. Drink Water when a craving hits. Avoid commercials. I would mute TV and close my eyes. I broke up with food TV. I also used to get up and walk during commercials. Lots o' walking going down. It gets better with time. Hang in there and follow your doc's plan!! You can do this.

I have tried both the GNC and Bariatric Advantage chews. Most people really DO love them but, for whatever reason, I can't stand either of them.
I just ended up going with calcium citrate pills instead. They have a few advantages I like, at least for me.
No taste(!), cheap, purchased about anywhere, and they don't melt in a hot car. (Ask me how I know this one... lol.)
I do like that there are so many options out there for different tastes, though.

This is going to be a lifetime commitment to healthy foods, not just the few weeks until you can have solid food again. You have to get through the head hunger and focus on what you're eating. Stick with Protein.

I absolutely craved all the fresh veggies from my garden, but was not allowed to have any (even cooked to mushy) until 8 weeks. Pure torture! But I followed orders. My doc did not want any roughage to irritate the new surgical sites. I just kept telling myself, "This, too, shall pass." And it did.

Girl you are rocking it! I was hoping to keep the NO hunger feeling for at least more than 2 days..BUT, I do feel the restriction which is critical. My gosh you are losing weight fast! How awesome!!!
My body just does not want to let go of the weight. I'm...9 days post-op and have lost a whopping 8 lbs. I know that probably seems like I'm ungrateful..but maybe I've just read too many post of incredible 10 - 12 lb losses per week after surgery. And these are RECENT posts..lol.
You know..I guess I'm not that far off from that...and I'm very very inactive due to a messed up knee but I've been trying to push myself to walk more each day regardless.
I'll just keep focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. I know I'm in major ketosis as the test strips cannot get any deeper purple than the highest range one. Sometimes I see it slip into the next highest one (1 shade down?0 so I know my overall calories are low. A couple times a week I will chart my "eating" and I range between 300 to 350 calories a day. I really would like to keep it under 200 but I do not know how much that would help my weight loss.

I agree with @MsCallieigh, I also had surgery on 7/23 and am only allowed, Protein Shakes, broth and Water. Its hard! Everyday i wake up to the smell of bacon, eggs and biscuits... my husband has to eat.. I'm just happy i don't need to cook it.
I too just drink a Protein Drink or water and keep busy.. it's really hard but we can do this.

Ya know every Dr. and nutritionist are different I've saw some people who could eat a week out. Regardless the struggle is real no matter where we are in our journey and I hope every day, hour, and minute gets better and the scale keeps dropping! Cravings so far are hard. They dont hit me until I have to cook or smell food sometimes. Hope it gets better for us all hang in there.

I’m just about 2 weeks out of surgery now, and the only foods I’m allowed right now are essentially baby foods. I can have very soft scrambled eggs, refried Beans, and apple sauce, but I’m craving normal foods. Big time. At the top of the list today, I’m craving a giant bowl of salad with ranch. Yesterday all I was craving was sushi.
I feel like I’m going insane. I’m super happy with this gastric sleeve and have already lost 20 lbs since day of surgery, but I’m already having such a hard time not being able to eat the foods I want.
Have you gone through this? How did you make this better? Please help a girl out!

I'm 9 days post-op bypass. Yesterday I had my 1 week appt and I'm down 23 lbs [emoji4] I haven't been this weight in about 10 years. I'm already very excited that I went through with it!
I'm mostly meeting liquid and protien goals, walking my 10k steps/ day, and dr cleared me to ride my beach cruiser on flat trails.

I don’t see where we have a thread on the post op side! So I figured I’d make one since very soon we will all be on this side!

Here is the list I made preop, my weight loss bucket list as it is:
    1. cross my legs - check! I love crossing my legs now and do it all the time!
    2. sneeze without peeing - condition has improved greatly
    3. rock climbing - haven't tried yet, kinda forgot it was on my list
    4. run a 5k - currently training and looking for a race
    5. be comfortable wearing shorts and not just capris in summer - check! I never used to wear shorts, but now I have 3 in my new size and only one pair of capris
    6. buy a swimsuit that doesn't have a skirt - check!
    7. waterski again - gotta get to the lake this summer to knock this one off
    7. Sex. More energy for it, more fun positions to try - DOUBLE CHECK!
Some bonus things: I like being able to pop myself up to sit on counters, I can sit on the floor without hurting my hips, I can buy a much bigger variety of shoes because I no longer need wide widths. Unfortunately I'll need to replace all my wide calf boots because they look ridiculous on me now.

Eating the right thing in the right amounts, planning to plant and grow some items, today is our last normal frost day, so should be " gravy" from now on.
Otherwise looking like a Foxy Lady instead of someone's Big Momma, I will relinquish my title to Martin Lawrence and Tyler Perry, they both can have all the things that go with such a role.
Otherwise, less short of breath, able to move smoother, quicker and without those groans I used tease,my older relatives about, I now make those sounds myself!!!
And best of all, living a good long while in this crazy Earth. 🌎, have a deep urge to see 👀what happens next.
