MzTrip got a reaction from GreenTealael in Snickers
I'm a little over 3 mths and lately I have had a few days where I can't stop eating. I tell myself no and next thing I know it's in my hand. I ate my first candy bar. A Snickers. About 30 minutes ago. I feel sick to my stomach. I have rejected only a few things. Candy bars aren't a habit I'd get back into but even once in a while isn't worth this feeling. On those days I can't stop eating I don't know what to do. It's funny, too, because I seem to even have more room in my stomach. It's maddening.

MzTrip reacted to AZhiker in Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
I saw my PCP today for the first time since surgery. I wore my "big girl" size 24 jeans to show how much I have lost and she was so amazed at "how good I look" and was very supportive. She told me that a lot of WLS patients come in with about a 50 pound loss and just sort of get stuck there, so she was very happy that I was at goal so quickly, but also that she could tell I had been working out and had good muscle tone and muscle volume to my arms and legs. She was happy to see all my lab values to be good - no anemia, Protein deficiency or Vitamin deficiencies. She really liked my HDL of 70 and that I was exercising consistently. She was a little concerned that I can still only eat about 800 calories tops in a day - 1,000 if I really push it and am uncomfortable. She doesn't want me to get below 140. She was also a little concerned about IF with my lower end caloric intake. I told her I feel so much better doing IF and that I have tons of energy. She was impressed about my clean eating food regime and that I really focus on making every bite nutritious and healthy. So the bottom line was that she was fine with me continuing on with my current plan, adding cooked whole grains to boost the calories as needed.
I did not tell her that I plan to add a 24 hour fast day each week, or that I may add a 72 hour fast once a month or every other month just to keep things clean metabolically.
PS: I am going to do my first triathelon in October! And will ride in the El Tour de Tucson bike race in November (riding a tandem for 60 miles with my sis-in-law.) I ordered my new bicycle today and it should arrive on Tuesday! Yippee!!! Now I've been reading about IF and athletic events. I can't imagine ever eating breakfast again, but perhaps I will need to eat something on event days. However, I'm afraid it would upset my bowels to spring a meal on them so early. So maybe I will just train while doing IF and see how it goes. Has anyone else done some heavy, long exercise while IF-ing? To eat or not to eat - that is the question.

Thank you!!! I get about 500 calories give or take. My nutritionist said not to worry about my calories just mainly my Protein so I get that in for sure. I walk 3 nights a week and do a cardio boxing workout on my Wii on nights I don't walk. I only started working out a few weeks ago and it really makes me wish I was working out this whole time... Since I added the workout to my walking my weight loss has started moving so quickly it's unreal to me. I just lost 10 pounds in a week. I don't want to stop lol. MzTrip reacted to Cheeseburgh in Asking older sleevers, did I make a mistake?
I don’t know what qualifies as an older sleever, however I am 58 and 1 pound shy of my goal weight 11 months later. I’ve had to work harder and push myself to get here. I didn’t focus on cardio and strength training until I was about 5-6 months in. I was walking daily prior to that. My weight loss really slowed down so I knew I had to rev up my metabolism. Much to my dismay it worked...
I’ve come to terms with Im going to have to exercise and eat right the rest of my life. I’m ok with that, I feel 100% better.
I LOVE iced coffee, here is what I do. I buy Starbucks cold brew black at the grocery store. It comes in a 48 oz jar. I put it over ice with sugar free vanilla coffee creamer (35 calories) or add a flavored Protein Shake and it tastes great for a fraction of the calories. I have this every single morning without fail.
Keep going, you’ve got this.
