  1. At 6 weeks my surgeon said I could do whatever I wanted.
  2. I had it as I healed the first 2 weeks. They sent me home with a contraption to help me breath deep and that really helped!
  3. I gained 15 pounds in the hospital and it took me over a week to lose it. I will come off!
  4. I do, it's simple and if the weather is bad I can walk on my treadmill!
  5. I have had both and would take the Laparoscopic surgery over a one scar surgery. For one, the scar is about a foot and a half long. It is also more painful. I just had my bypass surgery and some of my scars are almost gone.
  6. I'm using time. Two of my incisions are almost invisible, but the rest are quiet pink. I do know of people including myself that have used Mederma with fair results.
  7. Thanks all for replying! I agree with the majority and will be keeping my exercise routine going!
  8. I have watched a few of his videos and I think it is up to the viewer to decide what they believe. I for sure don't buy into everything he says. Thank-you for responding!
  9. After reading your post I decided to search the web and see what I could find. There are no "news" stories about DR. V, all I could find was hearsay or websites people put up on their own to express their feelings. Nothing substantiated.
  10. I had one for my first surgery 21 years ago, but back then they did mine open, so I had an incision from my diaphragm to my pubis. I kind of wished for one this time, but I was 2 weeks out when I thought of it.
  11. I have watched other videos by him and they usually make perfect sense.
  12. Will you share the recipe, please.
  13. At least from surgery to 6 months. He does make sense, but when I look back at my first surgery when I exercised daily (no Sundays) and lost 100 in six months. I just wanted to know what you all think of this. https://www.sleeveacademy.com/exercise?cid=89f985b6-0224-4fa3-998d-24f87c146ce6
  14. Yes, looking better is on my list. Mostly though I want my health to improve, be able to participate more and to just feel better. My hubby and I have been married 28 years this coming leap year and he has been by my side and since he is an active person I would like to be active with him!
  15. I am all for Mary. It is legal (medically) in my state staring in the new year. I have not gotten my card yet, but will be.
  16. I am a little nuts too, but didn't have to do any psych evaluation because I was a revision with many repairs to make. If they only knew..... ?
  17. I have been eating a lot of chili recently as the weather calls for it. Last night my hubby wanted Subway so I got a 6 inch roast beef and only ate the meat and some of the toppings and I have the other half for lunch today. I have also had brisket and baked beans, lots of soups, half a pot pie (no crust) and scrambled egg with spinach. I am sure there are some I haven't thought of, but I keep it as simple as possible, one new thing per day!
  18. My new motivation is to stay ahead of you Mikey ? having motivation will help me in the long run. I am so happy for you!
  19. You are rocking it just like I knew you would!
  20. I totally believe it is due to the acid reflux. I started having issues a couple years after my 1st surgery and I asked the dental hygienist if it could be related to my awful GERD, she said no. Turns out she was wrong. But it only makes sense that the acid would cause decay!
  21. Machalo, Great advice! I do this too when I crave something, I just tell myself I can have this at a later time and then I think about what I have gained by having surgery.
  22. AJ, what vitamins do you take for energy?
  23. You are not the only one! I had a terrible pain on my left side, burning or stabbing. It finally went away at 3 weeks, what a relief! I couldn't bend over at all with out actually screeching in pain, and I am very tolerant of pain. You are not a wuss this is a very painful surgery for a lot of people. Hugs!
