Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. It will be interesting to hear about someone doing it with their significant other - at the same time!
For me:
pre-op - 12.6
1 mo. post op - 30.6 total
4 mo. post op - 68.6 total
6 mo. post op - 83.4 total
1 yr. post op - 120.0 total
1 yr. + 1 week post op - hit goal 150#, total loss of 122.6

My husband and I are having VSG on Tuesday. Before I ask this question I just want to say that we are aware every person and situation is different anyway, we were talking about a few other couples we know who’ve done this and how exciting it was watching them lose and picturing ourselves in their shoes soon. I’m just curious on you guys journeys how much had you lost at your milestone appts? Post-Op Apt, 1mo, 4mo, 6 mo, 1 yr etc.

Five days after actual surgery and I must say I’m shocked at how much better I feel from day after.
Posters who are scheduled this month my biggest piece of advice after surgery...
get yourself up either in your house, or in the hospital if they keep you overnight, and walk till you fart or burp. Gas Is the major thing giving you pain and discomfort.
Now that it’s all gone i feel much more clear minded. I am focusing on the queues my new stomach gives me and so on. Not much pain to it.
In fact I feel great! I have so much more of a different outlook on life knowing I can achieve a body now that is capable of a better QUALITY of life. While being able to self control. It’s amazing how DIFFERENT my appetite is already. I am looking at food in a completely different way. I really think my yo yo days are behind me. I have never felt like this.

My surgery is already scheduled for July 31st. I received a letter from my insurance company, Anthem BCBS on Friday denying my request for my sleeve surgery. They claim I have not met all my requirements which I have. I've been under my surgeon's care since December. I have met all my surgeon's requirements. BCBS is saying I have not been on a supervised diet for 6 months. I plan to appeal their decision but this could not have happened at a worse time for me. I just found out I have 60 days to move!! Its been very stressful the last few days. I'm super bummed and feeling frustrated and overwhelmed by everything [emoji24]. I've worked so hard to come this far and to get all of this bad news at once. I'm praying everything works out as it should. I'm so depressed.

I am so sorry you are going through this situation with your surgeon. Many of the issues i read about are due to lack of pre-op education from our providers, and it sound like that is what is happening here. The symptoms you are describing are not uncommon in the weeks post-op.
Dont stress too much over hydration and Protein. You will make yourself crazy. You need to get in as much as you physically can get in and know that as the days and weeks progress, you will be able to tolerate more.
By the way, that day you felt like something was stuck in your chest...I have been there, as im sure many of the others in this board have. Just a reminder to take smaller bites and be very selective about what we eat. What stage of the diet are you on. At one month, i was only on pureed foods.
Best of luck to you, and as cliche as it may be... it will bet better.

Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself kindly over the next 1-2 weeks.
It honestly gets SO MUCH better.
I would do it all over again and again and again because the feeling I have is so absolutely worth it.
It’s kinda like having a baby.
If you are to ask a mother who is in active labor her thoughts on getting pregnant again, her response will be way more negative than the mother of an adorable 6 month old baby -

I'm having surgery August 5th (sleeve) and I'm honestly so EXCITED that none of the shade bothers me. I'm ready to get on the losers bench and I've never had an emotional attachment to food (gained the weight from being on a medicine I'm no longer on) and I have read SO much I feel like I know this process inside and out. I'm going to ROCK this !😎

We did all our pre-admit Testing & blood work Friday, we are officially cleared for surgery! 9 more days!

Soooooo.... I’m honestly nervous for the 2-week liquid diet. Can anyone who has been through it... did you still have energy? Could you make it through work days okay? I’m hoping that by the second week you just don’t want food anymore! 😂😂😂😳😭😭
