All is well! I have been able to keep down several Soups (non chunky) and Protein Shakes and fluids. No pain anymore. I have my 2 week post op appt on Monday. I am currently down 19 lbs since surgery. I am at a two day stall, so I told myself I will not look at the scale again until Monday and am only going to weigh myself once a week. I hear the stall is normal, but ya'll know how fun it is seeing the lbs come off and then when it suddenly stops it sucks. Non-scale victory. I put on jean shorts easily that i wasnt even able to get up over my hips at the beginning of summer! YAY

Oh my, dear!!! I am so sorry to see this Happy that you are indeed alive and able to tell this story. So I understand how they reconnected your original anatomy, and again I am happy that you are ok. Have you noticed any changed in what you are about to eat in terms of quantity? Additionally, you may also have the best tool (shift in eating habits) firmly established and will prayerfully continue to be healthy & happy. Many prayers to you!!

I'm actually back at work today! 😊It should take about two more weeks for the wound to heal. I have to pack and clean it daily, which isn't very fun.

On June 30th, I had my Gastric Bypass reversed, due to a hernia and small bowel obstruction 😞 It was a 6 hour open procedure. I was hospitalized for 9 days and it’s going to take a bit until I fully recover.
After having some form of weight loss surgery since 2003, my anatomy has been put back to normal.
I’m sad that I no longer have a tool to help me with my weight but I’m glad that I’m alive and able to talk about it.
Thank you to my friends that prayed and supported me through this difficult time!

There's a risk associated with all bariatric surgery. What happened to me happens to under 1% of gastric bypass patients. It was just bad luck.

    Alex,
Omg seems like you have been to hell and back!! So sorry you have had so many problems.
Why on earth would they leave the open incision? Did they think they were going to have to go back to Operating room??
Have you had complications from this surgery?

I am having RNY revision surgery on July 16th from my sleeve surgery 0ct 25th 2016.I have to have it because my GERD has gotten so much worse than it was before the sleeve surgery.
I didn't know you could have the bypass reversed.
Good luck with your new journey and you don't look like you need help with weight loss anymore.

Surgery is now 5 days away. I am down 20lbs with the Pre-Op liquid diet. I finished all my hospital pre-surgical testing & paid my ($750 deductible & $250 copay yesterday ). Four more days of this liquid diet and one day of Clear Liquids and then off to surgery I go. It appears I will have a 1-night hospital stay and then I am gone. What a process this has been!!!! The only thing I am truly feeling sad about is not picking up my baby for 1 month That she will not understand (2 years old) but as long as I can have someone hand her to me I will be ok (I pray).
Sending everyone strength and prayers!!! I am getting myself mentally ready for the 4 weeks of eating post-surgery.

Well LOL we know what you were full of💩And I'm not really making fun of you, you see I also sing in the "When did I poo💩Last "choir. In fact there are times I am guest soloist. My best way through, Miralax twice a day, if no BM after 2 days I resort to liquid Ducolax, if the third day comes and no💩, we call out the Ducolax pills, when they start working you wouldn't to schedule me anywhere except 1 room from my tile and porcelain abode, because I WILL BE ABIDING THERE. You see I drew the trifecta of colonic misery . I am still,on pureed diet with minimal natural Fiber to it, I am getting every day older, well known fact, ageing colons are sluggish and my colon is perfectly happy to stuff and cram until,i get full and then refuses to push things out spontaneously. It thinks it can visit Myrtle Beach or First Lauderdale, but I'm stuck moaning here in Ohio. And after my journey to local hospital for the Milk and Molasses enema,😅oh stop giggling😅 , I literally lost 4.5 pounds. I'm sure in the medical notes it says something like "Lady arrived full,of it, successful evacuation of colon contents" much rather have it say " Frustr8 is a lovely lady and an absolute joy to visit here!" but you know it would be the first. not the nicey one!

I’m alive! Walked two laps. Went to the bathroom and I’m sitting up. My nurse is convinced I’m a rockstar. I want a drink really bad, but not till 6:45. Not bad so far.

This is the most amazing news! Way to go. This also gives me hope as I am not taking too much time off work. I know everyone handles pain/surgery differently but hearing 6 days out w/o pain is completely great!!!!!!

So happy you had your egd completed. I also think it is amazing that your pouch did not stretch!! That is great news. Without stretching did the surgeon suggest any next steps (outside the monitoring the acid)?

I completely understand, and it makes so much sense. Like you, I am aiming for success and want to be able to win this battle. Yes, the home health agency was my life saver. I had to call two to find the perfect one for me. Please let us know how the WLS seminar goes next week.
As for me next week I will do my last primary care physician visit pre-surgery (Monday) and my Pre-surgical WLS class at my hospital ( required by the hospital) on Tuesday. I was a bit dismayed at the 6 month waiting period in January but now that I am about to cross the line I will be happy to start (or continue) this life long journey a healthier me.

Thank you o much for posting this!!! So like you, I also want and will need the follow-up support that comes after surgery. My office does offer this (for a fee), but it is an investment that I am going to make for myself. I think it is under $300.
As far as the endoscopy - I was in the same boat as I had just moved to the city I am in. What I did was find a nursing/home health agency who does supportive services/transportation etc. I explained that I was having a procedure and needed a ride home after. I had to pay for two hours of the nurses time ($60) for her to drive me home. We were together for less than 30 minutes but it was the only way I could get my procedure completed. I took a uber to the location and she picked me up and signed me out. I arranged for the home health aid to be there when I finished and also let the doctor office staff know the dilemma I was in so they understood that I had a medical professional to be there for me once I was done. She was there on time (a beautiful person) who drove me home and even called to check on me after I was comfortable at home. Anyway - that is how I dealt with that similar problem.
