    Heartburn

Pre-surgery I was prescribed Pantoprazole by the gastroenterologist who did my endoscopy. I kept taking it through surgery and recovery. (I'm not almost 4 months post-op) Anyhow, even though I was still mindlessly taking the Pantoprazole, I assumed my heartburn had gone away because now I eat nothing compared to what I ate pre-surgery. But once my Pantoprazole ran out, I started getting heartburn again like the old days. Anyone else experience this? Will I have to take Pantoprazole for the rest of my life? I understand why I had frequent heartburn when I was 400 pounds and ate everything that wasn't nailed down but I'm confused about why I still have heartburn now post-op. Any advice is really appreciated. Thank you!
  2. I'm tired of my chewable vitamins. I take other medicines that are large pills so I think I am ready to switch from chewable to a regular multi vitamin capsule. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a 1-a day multi for a man? Thank you!

Thanks. Heartburn seems to have started once I stopped taking the Pantoprazole. So now I don't know if its just been masking my heartburn all along or if its something else. I haven't started eating anything differently than what I've been eating ever since the operation.

  5. I am just over 1 month post-op gastric sleeve. I was at 399 the day of surgery. I'm now down to 259 or so. Lost about 40 pounds. I know that's good -- its only been a month -- but I am getting very impatient. Compared to what I used to eat before surgery, I eat like a mouse now. I feel like I should have lost 100 lbs by now. Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, is there a way to prevent from getting too much loose skin? I don't want to wait until I've lost 100 lbs. to worry about it. Thanks so much. This forum is a great resource!

Hi everyone! I'm a little over 1 month post-op gastric sleeve. Lost around 40 lbs so far. I was 399 before surgery. Haven't had any trouble with foods or swallowing thus far. Here's my question: I would really like to take a regular capsule multivitamin. Is that OK or do I need to continue with the chewable? Taking a chewable makes me feel like a kid and I feel like all the vitamins just get stuck in my teeth - LOL. Thanks for any advice!
