Multivitamins

Hi everyone!

I'm a little over 1 month post-op gastric sleeve. Lost around 40 lbs so far. I was 399 before surgery.

Haven't had any trouble with foods or swallowing thus far.

Here's my question:

I would really like to take a regular capsule multivitamin. Is that OK or do I need to continue with the chewable? Taking a chewable makes me feel like a kid and I feel like all the vitamins just get stuck in my teeth - LOL.

Thanks for any advice!

  • I would ask your surgeon. I was able to switch at 1 month to capsule. I've heard others having to wait by instruction of their surgeon. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I was approved for capsule after one month, but as Naiad say to check with your surgeon. I don't like the chewables. Surgery date 4/29/19.

Surgery date 4/29/19.

My surgeon said it was okay to return to capsules after a month.

Initially they told me one month, but at my 2 week checkup my PA said I was ok to go to capsules. Check with your surgeon first.

My doctors program says capsule after 3 months.

My surgeon ok'd me for pills from the beginning. But each doctor is different. Try getting a capsule and grinding it into a tablespoon of applesauce to switch it up.
