  1. Congratulations! I look forward to following your process. I’m so happy I had my PS, I’m so much more comfortable in my body now.
  2. Ah, I did the whole mommy makeover thing which included a tummy tuck, abdominal muscle repair, breast lift & augmentation. I also had an arm lift to get rid of the bat wings.
  3. I would bet you’re smaller than a 36 band size! I think I remember you mentioning plastic surgery? I had mine in January. My poor boobs were just empty sacks. Now post PS I’m a 32F. They’re awesome :) I can go braless if I like and they stay put.

Out on my first date post separation and pending divorce. We’re getting drinks and visiting a farmer’s market. Probably should have picked a dress, but the sidewalks in the area are known to be real ankle breakers.
  5. This is me the morning prior to my plastic surgery. I definitely had a bulge both above and below my belly button. It’s all flat now post tummy tuck.
  6. Ugh. Mine started that too. He’d alternate between loving how I look and being super insecure about it.

OOTD scrubs edition. My hospital provides our scrubs. The tops have a colored band at the neck, and the bottoms have a colored draw string. The colors indicate size. Dark green = 3xl, dark blue =2xl and so on. At my highest weight I wore dark green band tops and had to buy my own pants because the 3xl’s were too tight. Now I’m a yellow which is small and may even fit in pale green which is XS! Boy did it suck to have to advertise my size on my work clothes, now I’m happy to be in the yellow crew :)
  8. So sorry you’re going through that. My husband got incredibly insecure, possessive, and frankly angry right after I had my plastic surgery despite all reassurances from me. It sucks. We’re now legally separated and have filed for divorce. Even so, I have zero regrets about my surgeries. I’m going to live a healthy, full of fun life with or without him. Best of luck to you as you move through the process!
  9. Mine was puffy too. My tummy tuck flattened it and lifted it (and seems to have delightfully tightened everything in that area up a bit as well).
  10. I went partially through the approval process at 40 and then chickened out. I wish I wouldn’t have. My only regret is not having surgery sooner. I finally went through with it at 49. Yes, I ended up with loose skin. Plastic surgery took care of all of it (and oh man, do I love my perky boobs). I’m fit, healthy, and love how I look now. I enjoy eating thoroughly. Just smaller amounts. I also am a big sugar fan. That has lessened somewhat post op, but I still fit small treats in to my plan and am satisfied with much, much less. For example, a dark chocolate/caramel/sea salt bar that has eight segments lasts me eight days. I savor each one in the evening, letting it melt slowly in my mouth rather than chewing it with hardly tasting it. I truly feel like this surgery is my second chance, I’ll be around and be healthy to enjoy my kids and grand kids and fully participate in life. Best of luck to you!
  11. As long as your incisions are healed you’ll be fine. Does the place you’re staying have a refrigerator? I’d recommend stocking up when you arrive on healthy drinks and snacks so you can stay on plan.
  12. For sure! Being a psych nurse I have a highly attuned BS detector ?
  13. Like those above, red meat has always been fine for me. I love a good steak! (Just a much smaller serving now). My only meat I can’t eat much of is pork. It’s so dense, I can only get in about 2 oz before I get my full signals.
  14. My husband and I separated a couple months ago and are just waiting on court availability to finalize our divorce. I’ve just started dipping my toe in the dating world. It’s fun on some levels. However, I can’t help but feel a little (probably misplaced) resentment. Suddenly I’m a bit of a hot commodity. While on dating websites before my marriage, when I was 140 lbs heavier, I had few show interest. Now I’m overwhelmed with messages. It kind of messes with my brain to go from someone seen as undesirable to someone desirable. I’m still the same person, just in different packaging I guess. It’s frustrating to realize how much my value as a person was minimized due to my weight ?
  15. I only needed the stronger pain meds for a couple days, and then was fine with alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen.
  16. Like catwoman, I wore one after my tummy tuck, but not after my VSG.
  17. I’m going to reiterate what was said by catwoman. I also hated vomiting. It is so much easier now! No heaving stomachache, nearly no acid. I’ve had it happen a few times when I’ve had one bite too many. It comes up easy and you feel way better once you do. It’s a good lessen to learn, to slow down and not take just one more bite when your body tells you it is full.
  18. My tipping point was being lisinopril for hypertension. I’m an RN, so we’ll know the health consequences of hypertension. This was my wake up call. Within three months of my WLS my blood pressure was back to normal and I was off meds. I also was able to stop using my cpap as I no longer have sleep apnea. Besides all the vanity reasons, my improved health has been an amazing benefit of having WLS.

    Kris! You look amazing!!❤️
  20. I got mine in January, just a few weeks before I turned 51. I’m so glad I did. I feel and look way younger. No regrets, it does wonders for my ego :)
  21. It may or may not happen, as mentioned above by such factors as genetics & how long you’ve been overweight. I had a ton. I’d take every flap of skin any day for the 140 lbs lost. I had plastic surgery in January to take care of it. Upside of that is I now have the boobs of a 25 year old at age 51 ?
  22. It only took me a few weeks to have bigger than sips of water. After 3-4 months I was back able to drink at my normal pace. Now at nearly two years out I drink on average 120 oz of water/day with no problem.
  23. I bought a set of kettle bells. Works arms and core. Tons of free you tube workout videos.
  24. You look amazing, happy & healthy ❤️
  25. Is it a hiatal hernia or an abdominal wall muscle hernia? Hiatal hernias can be fixed during your WLS. Abdominal wall muscle hernia repairs are often done as part of a tummy tuck.
