  1. Cookies and cream is my favorite! I’m hoping Costco will stock it again soon.
  2. That looks decadent and delicious!
  3. Every surgeon has a different plan, so hard to give advice on specific foods. You did mention wanting to eat everything on your plate. My best advice is to use a salad plate, not a dinner plate. I still do nearly two years out! Also, measure & weigh your food and don’t put more on your plate than you should eat. Something I had a hard time with was slowing down while eating. This allows your stomach time to register the full signals and send them to your brain. Try putting your fork down between bites. Count to 30 or 60 if you have to! Get used to cold food ? Keep practicing at these things, it becomes second nature over time.
  4. I use straws all the time. My team didn’t give any guidance on them.
  5. Any of them. If I’m sweetening my coffee or iced tea and have a selection I’d pick stevia or Splenda, but don’t even bother to look what is used in sugar free products.
  6. @lizonaplane I’m on a hiatus right now as I took a travel nurse assignment in Boston for the summer. I’ll get started again when i’m back home in Seattle in late August. I started about a year ago, so at about 1 year post op. Prior to that I really only walked for exercise. It is so much fun, and an intense 30 minute work out that works your whole body.
  7. I had a really easy recovery too, and liquids were no problem for me. The restriction really kicked in once I transitioned to regular foods. I’m now 22 months post op and still will vomit if I eat just one bite to many. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often because I’ve really learned to be aware of my body’s full signals and stop before I take that one last bite that puts me over the edge.
  8. My instructions at that stage was 2 oz at a time.
  9. I wouldn’t risk it! I had to give a urine sample morning of surgery and would have been cancelled if I tested positive for nicotine.
  10. Did your team give you a specific plan? Follow that! You just went through major, life changing surgery. If you’re feeling really hungry at this stage it’s possible that it’s actually excess stomach acid. Do they have you on a acid reducing medicine? I’d advise calling your team tomorrow to check in. 7 days out seems too soon to me for peanut butter, but each team’s guidance varies.
  11. It’s actually great. I’ve always loved rice, and pre op could eat a ton of it. I’m completely and totally satisfied with just a couple bites now and don’t feel like I’m missing out at all.
  12. I’m 21 months post op. I can eat about 2 bites of rice and do pretty frequently. My son and I love our local teriyaki restaurant. We’ll get one order of teriyaki chicken, extra meat. I have 3-4 oz of chicken and a couple bites of rice and the rest is plenty for his dinner.
  13. I think as you move towards regular foods you will find them helpful for portion control. This weeks lunches for work for me were 4oz containers of turkey chili, with a 2 oz container of nuts for a snack and a yogurt. I use my containers nearly daily, it keeps me on track. Eyeballing portions, in my experience, leads to over eating.
  14. I had the sleeve as well, and also had hiatal hernia repair. I’m 21 months post op. I’m maintaining at below my initial goal weight. I have occasional (once a month, if that) heartburn easily treated with a Tums. You’ll successful people who had either surgery. Work with your team to determine which will be best for you.
  15. Yes! 7g per serving.
  16. Yes! I have a bunch of 2 & 4oz containers that I use to pack my lunch & Snacks for work.
  17. I have loved this weight loss bonus! So much more room in my suitcase, I can pack waaayyy more clothes and shoes when I travel!

Super cute, and what a great feeling! Perfect dress for late spring.
  19. A couple days and you should feel better. The very best thing you can do to dissipate the gas, prevent blood clots, and get your GI tract working is to walk as much as you can tolerate.
  20. Search my name, you’ll see my latest bikini pic :)
  21. Careful with the trazodone! One of its major side effects is weight gain:(
