  1. I just got home. I have some pain but the meds make it tolerable.
  2. I did it! I am in my hospital bed writing this. You can all do this! Good luck to all of you!
  3. Yikes! Tomorrow is the big day for me. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM. So very nervous.
  4. How are you all doing on your pre-op diets? Anyone have their bag packed?
  5. I could not get through a liquid only diet... that is why I am fat!
  6. I too have been horrible about my pre-op diet. I am having surgery on Monday. I plan to be good from this moment forward. I saw my surgeon on Thursday, I told her how I have been doing on the diet and she said "try to lose 5 more pounds, that will really help".
  7. Sept 9th! Woohoo! Doing low calorie diet. Saw my surgeon on Friday and she asked me to try to take off 5 more pounds.
  8. My surgeon wants me to do a 3 week liquid diet pre-op. I am really dreading this. I do not have my surgery date yet. I do not know how I will get through the liquid diet but I am determined.
  9. I still do not have my surgery date. I think about my surgery constantly. I read forums, I watch videos, read blogs. Is anyone as obsessed as I am? Is this normal?
  10. Thank you for all of your replies.
  11. My bariatric coordinator told me that they can't schedule my surgery until I have gotten and started using a CPAP. I had an at home sleep study and now am scheduled for a sleep clinic sleep study on 21Jul2019. How long after your sleep study did it take to get the CPAP? What is it like to try to get sleep with that thing on your face? I am feeling frustrated because I want my surgery date and to get my 3 week liquid diet out of the way.
  12. Hair loss? The hair will grow back, that is temporary. You need this surgery to live a longer fuller life
  13. Congrats. I am truly excited for you. Please let us know how it goes. I know that when my day finally comes I will not be able to sleep the night before.
  14. This is a great question. I am too attached to mine to leave them. I try to go on vacation where I can take them along. One day I would like to go on a cruise or something but I am not sure if I would have fun or just miss them.
  15. After WLS for a free meal, just go to Sam's club on Sample Sunday and try a few samples. -FREE
  16. I love watching shows like My 600 lbs Life since I started on my journey toward surgery. My husband does not watch these shows but he is typically in the room when I am watching. He has been supportive of me. He cooks healthy, he makes healthy shopping lists, he looks for healthy recipes and gently and sweetly refuses when I want to cheat. After a recent office visit with my surgeon I thanked him for being so supportive. He replied with "Yeah! I do not want to be like those dead beats on My 600 lbs Life! I have to be a good and supportive husband! You can do this!". ...apparently he listens to the show while I watch. Do you have any funny stories?
  17. I just found out that I will have to do 3 weeks liquid diet before my surgery. Any tips on how to be successful on this? The surgeon wants me to shrink my liver.
  18. This has got to make things much harder for you! Do you call them out? "Hey, what I am doing is very difficult, why you trying to sabotage me?" or "When you act like that I feel like you do not understand that this is a matter of life and death for me." You are worthy, your feelings are valid and you deserve respect and help with your journey.
  19. My experience has not been like this. Initially the coordinator was very responsive. However I did email her last week and have not heard back. Also, I forwarded her an email I sent to the fitness coordinator and she did not seem to understand that I was forwarding her and said "oh you sent it to me by mistake, I sent it to the fitness person for you". My surgeon is really great but I think the coordinator is over-worked and needs help. You could try a consultation with another surgeon and speak to them about your other experience. Make sure you get your own copies of all your medical records.
  20. You look amazing but also you look so happy!
  21. I can understand your concerns. We all have something we worry about. My biggest worry is being overnight at the hospital without my husband and dogs. Oh and I am fearful of getting an IV, people seeing me naked when I am asleep/under and worried that I won't be able to shower for 2 days.
  22. Thank you for all your encouragement. I have been trying to fill up with chicken breast, since she is comfortable with me having that
  23. Nutritionist put me on a 1000 calories/ 60 - 90 protein/ 60 carbs per day and it is so hard. I am starving! How did you get through this?
