OK who is exercising today?
Come on, don't make me suffer alone. I am at this moment updating my IPOD so I can go to my gym, for the first time since December. So who is going to exercise with me? report here.

Eating with Other People
YOU ARE RIGHT DAMN IT! I bet a lot of overweight people ARE people pleasers and have all the personality traits that go with. Cheers.... And I am 40something and I truly DON'T give a damn, but old people-pleasing habits die hard.

Eating with Other People
I also hate eating around people who don't know about my surgery, especially at restaurants. I have mastered the pushing the food around the plate, putting food on my dh's plate and taking my dish from the table early and trashing the food that doesn't fit into my pouch and clearing the table. At a restaurant, I will only order an appy or Soup and ask the server to remove the food when I am done.

Do you miss your old eating habits?
Good attitude Manatee, If I miss a taste of something like pizza, I have a bite of my kids' (much to their delight as you can imagine) A taste is sometimes all I need. I can have a bite of pizza, mostly topping, or a rib or a bite of fajitas. I really don't have to say no to anything. FORTUNATELY, I have lost my taste for bread, buns, and the things that are not band-friendly.

Do you miss your old eating habits?
I don't miss it really. Although last summer, one day I wished like heck that I could eat a whole hamburger, bun and all. I ate my small meal, part of a hamburger patty with all the condiments and after about 5 minutes I forgot my yearning. Then I put on my size 11 capris and felt AWESOME....I haven't had another episode of "I wish" since. Thank goodness.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Ya, do you have the 4cc band. If you have the larger band then I heard restriction starts around 6.0. There is also a thread with peeps with the larger 10cc band. Good luck, on the other hand, there are people WITH the 4cc band who don't feel good restriction until after 3.6 or more..... Let us know how you are doing. hugs

Excellent, excellent advice here my band sister (same strict surgeon). I promise you that in a year, Dr Leung will be your hero. PS I was pissy and bitchy too. It happens and this too shall pass. hugs

Being banded 29th Jan and I might cancel :(
Wow, I have nothing to add to the already excellent advice you got here. I just want to encourage you to be true to yourself. Be kind to yourself and listen to your heart. Well the logical part anyway. I too never had a lot of support from family. But in my 40's I could give a hoot what anyone else thinks. I was also so scared about this surgery and doubting myself, I even thought of jumping off the operating table last minute. I am so glad I didn't. I am now down over 100 pounds and within 2 pounds of goal. I feel alive and beautiful again. I am so thankful that I had the courage to go through with it. And I know in my heart that if I didn't, I'd still be 280 pounds plus, feeling every of my 44 years, depressed and not wanting to leave the house, not wanting to socialize, not wanting to put on a bathing suit, not wanting to buy clothes, etc, etc, etc. Good luck with your decision. I too wish I had this available to me in my 20s. I'd have saved myself over 20 years of emotional and physical pain. hugs PS, there will be a lot less for your family to worry about when you get into the healthy weight range.......

A bit of a squeemish question, sorry!
I just recently caught a bug that made me vomit. Normally, I am immune to all the sicknesses my 3 kids bring home from school, but this one got me. It was really quite unnerving actually. I tried so hard to curtail or soften the vomiting, I was so worried. It was an aweful experience. Fortunately, it just went on for a day. It was strange as I didn't vomit anything as nothing was coming up from my stomach to my pouch. So yes, I was worried about doing some damage. But alas, all is well. I did a search on vomiting it helped to know that others went through this and came out fine. I don't wish that on anyone. Stay healthy.

Calling all "apples"
Never heard that before. I WON'T measure to check. lol Might depress me. Foofy, I wish I had a before shot for you. What you said about plastic surgery makes sense. Yes, I will only require a TT. I have no booty to speak of and my legs and hips are fine. So look at dem apples. Thanks for the compliments you two. I can't begin to explain how great I feel down over 100 pounds.

Calling all "apples"
Funny, I was thinking just today, that I used to be an apple and found my hourglass. My last problem is still my tummy, looking into a tummy tuck. But it did go, thank goodness.

35 lbs from goal - my journey
GO JULIE! Aren't we lucky that this band is adjustable. Good luck in finding just the right fill for you to take off the last 35..... hugs

Got unfill now I am starving!
Ah yes, 2.8. I remember 2.8 and I think was a good fill.

I changed my mind...
THAT made me laugh, because sometimes I miss it too. This summer, I wanted SO badly to eat a whole hamburger, bun and all. But alas, my bands stopped me, thank goodness. So when I miss pigging out, I just put on my size 11 pants and feel thankful that I can't. Foofy, I am a believer that if you are happy and losing weight, then your fill is just right. But if you are not losing and need help, get a fill. Good luck and let us know how things are going.

New SHOES!!!!
OMG, what a beautiful thing to say. Losing over 100 pounds has really lifted my spirits. I feel beautiful again.

Night Snacking
I have learned the Oprah trick of not eating after a set time. I have a time of 7 or 8, and that is it. Also, I do not have acid reflux thankfully, but I want an empty pouch by the time I go to bed. Sometimes I 'flush' it by drinking hot Water. Good luck, it is just a matter of changing your habits and this is a healthy one. I haven't embraced the feeling of emptiness though, I know that that knawing feeling is our body actually losing weight.

B.C. Bandsters..
WORD! I have never asked, but I hope Leung is training another doctor. Good to hear Dr W is a great doctor. I look forward to hearing more of him through ang1982. We NEED good support and good for you for going for your support through him Doddie.

scared of being thin?
I haven't read all the responses so forgive me if I repeat. I was and maybe am still a bit afraid to be thin. I have to learn on a daily basis how to deal with people treating me differently than they did over 100 pounds ago. Some treat me better, like strangers, some treat me worst, like family members who are worried about me or resentful of my success. But I have to say now, 2 pounds from goal. I am more afraid of being fat again. So with every ounce of my energy, I will focus on staying healthy and keeping this weight off. Good luck in your journey. Be good to yourself.

F***ing Plateau
GO GOTAL! You can do this. I had a 6 month plateau. I was swearing by the end of it too. All I have for you is support, a pat on the back and encouragement to do whatever it takes. I found that with each pound lost, I had to step it up a bit. Really watch my intake and step it up at the gym. Plateaus are natural, but they too will come to an end eventually.
