  1. You are wise my friend. I have regretted every single dollar wasted on new clothes on the way down, although there are not many honest. I STILL resent it though...LOL! good for you for shopping at Goodwill. Even Walart has nice t-shirts cheap sometimes. I couldn't resent a few dollars. Fortunately, I have had many sizes in my closet to help me on the way down. Your daughter is right to want to see you in well fitting clothes, but you are right to save your money for goal.
  2. Aw, just spotted this. Thank you my dear. The last 18 were by far the hardest. I don't really have a 'plan', just focused on protein shakes in the morning, juicing veggies, because I can't eat too many, and of course the lean proteins and soft cooked veggies. I have not been an angel in my journey, but my progress is perfectly perfect for me. I started at the gym seriously last April. I still have 2 stubborn pounds, but the Christmas Season has seen a few white wines and a few extra calories. But happy to report that I have maintained 177 pounds. Yes, start a thread, it has helped me immensely in my journey. I have had many and various threads, where I have whined, complained and even cried. The support I received here was awesome. So still 2 pounds to go. :update: Today I am reporting that my 13 year old and I are starting a jogging program together. She is really wanting this, so I think it will be good bonding time. We start the Vancouver Sun Run training schedule in January and will be jogging 10km in April. This is the first year she is elligible to join at 13 years of age. And she is 5'10" tall and about 150 pounds, (I am just under 6 ft and 177) so I will be working hard to keep up. She also has youth on her side and is a blue belt in Taikwondo. (Gawd, what did I get myself into) If THIS doesn't take the last few pounds off I don't know what will. So all you other joggers out there, you inspire me with your stories and your successful Marathons....wow, I am in awe. I may be jogging slower than your average fast walker, but I will be there with my dear daughter.
  3. Congratulations! You deserve a party in your honour. Fantastic accomplishment! Got pics?
  4. Ang1982, congratulations on your surgery date with Woodhead. I look forward to hearing of your progress. It still shocks me that there are only 2 surgeons in Vancouver doing lap bands, one of them (Leung) near retirement. Bert, I pm'd you.
  5. Good advice Doddie. We are lucky to have our Dr Leung.
  6. Thank you Bert! For me, it has been a dream come true. I have battled this weight all my life and I just got fatter every year. This has been my saving grace and Dr Leung is my hero.
  7. I love me some Dr Leung. Congratulations on your surgery date. Wow, that must be record time. He IS an excellent surgeon and the staff at SMH were angels. Good luck getting it covered. I hope you win. The best I could do was write it off on my taxes. Check out my stats. I can hardly believe it, and I haven't gained one pound this holiday season. :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Keep us up on your progress Bert.
  8. Yep, your fullness is perfect, good projection. Very natural looking. Excellent. Keep on healing. hugs
  9. Absolutely, and thanks for the encouragement. I just want 100% of goal, so I can call it. LOL! It will come.
  10. Chickie, gorgeous. Hey are those Lululemon? Julie, gorgeous as usual, even after running a marathon?
  11. Awwwwwwww, Julie, you are a real trooper. Don't know if I know of any braver and tougher than you my dear. gentle hugs PS, my last couple of pounds came straight off my breasts. Had to go buy new bras. Continued healing, hope you have a comfortable sports bra.
  12. I confess to not exercising as much. And I did bake Christmas cookies yesterday. Haven't had any yet, but they are THERE. Will be making a renewed effort soon. And yes Dawn, the last few seem to be the hardest. grrrrrrrrrr
  13. Tell me about your boobs. How do they feel? What hurts the worst right now? Hope with every minute you are feeling better and better. gentle hugs
  14. I KNOW! BLOODY HELL, AND IT AIN'T COMING OFF! Where is the foot stamping smilie?
  15. My fills always get tighter at about the 2 week mark. Strange, but true.
  16. Strangly I am much looser on my fill post flu than pre. Perhaps the fill was pushed around? Wondering?
  17. Awwwww, I saw you typing and thought it was just too soon. YOU are a TROOPER little girl. Now go back to bed and rest. Congratulations, your transformation is complete. gentle hugs
  18. How exciting and yes nerve wracking all at the same time. Good for you girl.
  19. Your arms must be one of the hardest places to keep still. Just to lay in bed and read would take significant movement. I feel for you. Speedy healing.
  20. HA! But bring it on. I am also thinking of a tummy tuck, so there's another reason to wait. Too late now, but if I have to replace the now 6 pairs of pants that I currently own, so be it. The banded life is great.
  21. Awwww, I am so sorry. It will all get better from here. Keep us up on how you are doing....hugs....
  22. Whoo weee. I am 2 pounds from goal, so have been splurging on some much needed new clothes, nothing fancy, just the essentials for a SAHM. I was careful not to spend too much money on the way down the scale, but know each and every penny I did spend was really a waste. Because I didn't wear it for long. Now at goal (almost)......wow! All I can say is save your money folks.
  23. You CAN do this. You WILL find your inner strength. And next year you will be looking HAWT in your new clothes. It is such an exciting thing, KNOWING you will be losing weight and that with proper care, you will NOT gain it back. Good luck and best wishes.
  24. What helped me in my decision, was watching a friend get banded, and in a year and half she lost 130 pounds. All this as I watched and gained and got more miserable. I am so grateful to this friend. Now, I am down over 100 pounds and will enjoy a bottle of wine together soon to Celebrate being at goal. Cheers.
