I'm having the bypass done. My insurance isnt covering the sleeve at this time and I hate lap bands so RNY it is. I'm not going to complain though because honestly with all the info and support you find on here, I feel better prepared. I was dead set on the sleeve but I'm actually happy with RNY now too. Your plan sounds like a great idea. you will get to focus on healing.

I keep starting to clean out my cabinets but then I get side tracked lol. Between my 3 kids and being so nervous I find a million other things I need to do lol. I've heard of the milk diet and I do not envy you for that lol. I am stocking up on sugar free jello so that I will have some texture.

No advice since I'm still preop but congrats!!!! When do you meet your surgery team? I meet mine next Thursday and I'm super excited but beyond ready to get this show on the road. My surgery date is 6/19.

I just got my call from insurance yesterday with my approval and date. They said I should be hearing from my surgeon within a few days to let me know next steps and details leading up to surgery!!! I am so excited! I'm so excited for you love!!! Your stats are very close to mine btw. My HW was 293 and I'm 5 ft 2. I'm beyond ready to meet with my surgeon next week to finish going over everything.

It really depends on their requirements. I found a loophole in mine though. I was able to use dr appts from the last year or so as long as it had my weight on it and some sort of notes. I only needed 6 of those and had 4 so I only had to go to 2 pcp appointments for them to approve me on the diet part of it.

So I smoked for 4 years and I tested negative 3 weeks later. I vape 0mg nicotine now though and that has helped tremendously with quitting. I was a pretty heavy smoker too.

For some reason this post actually struck a chord in me. You're right. If I die on the table then I wont know.
