Remember at your stage, what feels like hunger could be the st9mach acid that, hasn't quieted down or simple inside swelling. Your body is saying" Iliana, WHAT did you do to ME? Why did you let those doctors do THAT? " see your body does not see the benefits yet, it only knows it's been HURT and it is afraid now. You will become fine as days go by, but right now remember you just had your major surgery, they don't call it "minor" because it has so many changes to it. Keep Fluid going in even if it's only a little bit every 15 minutes, it will mount up.

Just had my surgery March 20. I had regards last night like you this liquid diet is getting me. It gets better with time. I take a sip of Water every 10 minutes. Even if it's walking in place at your bedside that's a start. Good luck.[emoji890]οΈ[emoji890]οΈ[emoji890]οΈ

I would have definitely described myself as private and kind of Jaytissle55 kind of person. I have been thinking about having surgery for couple of years or more and have never told a soul, not even my husband until I started the appointments 6 months ago. However, for me something clicked recently and instantly I became very open and comfortable discussing the subject. I am not advertising my choice to the world but in the last few weeks I have told my family, my friends and my small group of coworkers. Actually I feel good about it. I got mixed reactions but I was surprisingly comfortable with the subject. So go with whatever feels comfortable to you and be at peace with whatever youβre deciding.

I agree WLS is a roller coaster especially when making the decision to actually have the surgery. Getting to the point of accepting that weight loss surgery is not something to be ashamed of but the celebration of a tool that will enable us to have a longer and healthier life. No shame in looking out for ourselves first.
I also have a very judgmental family the reason I haven't told not one member( except for my children who super supportive). If i don't put myself first no one will.

Rant away! I have a very judgmental family. (excluding husband and kids, they are great), I'm not going out of my way to tell people, butI am not ashamed and not keeping it a secret because that would place a burden on me. I remind myself that there are many reasons why I chose this surgery and many health issues that no one knows about apart from my husband and kids. Only I know the whole story. For the FIRST time in my life, I am putting myself first so I can enjoy the REST of my life. Cheers to you!

just a small rant or statement
have any of you tryed to explain the process we go through during our transition of the chosen surgery we have went through ?
not just the weight loss the emotional rolla coaster and resetting our goals in life and that instead of always being the one with the solutions and answers being the one who looks out for yourself so you can help others after self care i can help other, sometimes i need to look out for me first (maybe selfish ) i feel im better after my personal care comes first then i can move forward to help others crazy stuff that goes through my head we are all healing and experiencing trauma in our lives as we move forward one needs to look to eliminate the trauma in their life to move past that and become the person you want to be NOT TO FORGET just move forward in this life we have chosen rant over have a great positive day everyone cheers !!!!!!

I'm not sure but I think that says your husband loves π you. I don't know what I would do without my daughter helping me. I've had a hard time recovering and help is a blessing.
I hope it all works out for you and you get the support you need.
Best wishes!

I do have trouble, had my sleeve done on 3/20. Yesterday I started making in protein and it worked. I start my day with a 16 oz Water and I freeze the protein in ice trays that equal up to 80 grams. I eat the and ice all day long. It worked but today is just the second day I'm doing it. Hope that helps

Ok, sorry this will be a little long...I began this journey back in January of 2016. Started the process and completed my required (by insurance) 6 month weightloss plan and then went for my pre-op physicals. During this process (1 week before my scheduled surgery) my surgeon found that i was anemic and was concerned.(HE SAVED MY LIFE RIGHT HERE...THE FIRST TIME) He pulled some strings and got me in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy the day before my scheduled surgery date because, as he said, "I need to know what i'm dealing with when i go in there." During the colonoscopy they found that I had stage 3 colon cancer. My surgery the next day went from a GSV to a colonectomy. He also took out my gall bladder (as the preop tests found I had gall-stones) and took out my appendix. So, 3 months of open wound treatment (because of an infection at the surgery site), and 6 months of chemotherapy later, i was able to take a deep breath. I had lost 30 pounds during all of this, but then sadly watched as the scale crept back up to my previous weight. So, in August of last year I decided I was ready to continue down the road toward the GSV surgery. Unfortunately, my employer switched insurance companies so my approval had to start back at square one. I have now completed the 6-month weight loss program...again, and have a surgery date of April 25th. (I could have had it sooner, but i needed that week to fit in my life). I am ready to get this surgery done and get healthy because my co-morbites are out of control. So now, my surgeon will get to take credit for saving my life 2 TIMES!!!! Thank you, Dr. Hipp!

Exercise NSV today! I walked 5k on the treadmill in 1 hour 7 minutes. Iβve never walked more than 40 minutes on the treadmill so this was a big accomplishment for me. I I entered a 5k thatβs in a couple weeks so itβs very motivating. π

And my Weight loss is cug-a-cugging along, got w3ighed at a doctors office yesterday Friday 22, 2019, aI now weigh 11 pounds less than the arbirary one on my State- issued ID, I have one of those instead of a driver's license.
FYI Ohio is one of those states that requires your weight on hunting and Fishing ones, somebody asked Why? Told them I figure its so they can identify your body if something bad happens, like being shot or drowning! Not too worried about #2. since I can swim. just don't plan on doing in frigid waters. and although all my relatives went through Hunter safety courses that might have fooled the State, but not me, there are definitely a few I don't hunt with, know what doofuse they are in Daily Life, and I'm sure it carries over into here also.

I hate the "cheating" thing. That usually comes from someone who is jealous or just a butt in general. Tell them the only thing you cheated was death.
