  2. You both look wonderful! Such a great inspiration for someone like myself, who is just a few weeks out of surgery. Congratulations and thanks for posting!!!!! ???
  3. You are going to do great! Wishing you an easy surgery and a quick recovery...???
  4. So far, I have been ok with very small amounts of shrimp and tilapia both. Just soooo glad to do anything other than protein shakes...
  5. Hi, everyone! Hope all of you are well and doing great after your surgery, or you are all ready for your big day! Just a quick update on me, in case anyone wants to see what a few weeks out may/can look like. I will be 4 weeks out of my RNY on Monday. I think I am finally starting to feel more like myself again. I am feeling like I have a bit of a bariatric routine going for vitamins, food, and water so it isn't quite taking over so much of my daily focus and I am starting to feel more energy, too. I am able to eat some soft chicken, fish and shimp now without trouble. (I weigh each "meal" out with a scale, about an ounce worth or less, and log it down.) I have a calorie limit of 300 calories this week, which bumps up to 400 next week. I have never felt nauseous, but I only eat till I feel any pressure at all and stop. For those on only liquids still, hang on! It does get sooo much better with just a little bit of real food. I have been just meeting the low end of my 60-80 grams a day protein goal- though I think it will be easier with a few more calories to use, if I need them. So far I have still needed a whey protein shake to meet my daily protein goal. UGH!!! Good Lord, if I never, ever taste another whey shake again that would be great... I am SOOO over those puppies. I feel like I can taste that stuff all the time. GROSS!!! Honestly, the hardest thing for me is getting that 64 ounces of water in daily! I am full for so long after eating, I think I just don't want to drink even. I am doing better everyday though. Wishing each of you the best in your journey and looking forward to reading more about everyones great progress !!! ?
  6. Oh for sure!!! However, if you really wanna go hard core you will shave your legs first, too. Not that I have done that, at least not yet.... ?
  7. Hang in there- it gets better pretty quickly. Sleep and walk when you can!
  8. Hope you are doing great and congratulations!
  9. You don't sound like a big baby at all. ((Hugs)) You only sound like someone who has been through a really rough patch. I am so sorry you have been put through the ringer these past few days. Hang on tight and it WILL get better. Promise!!! Wishing you comfort, peace and healing. ?
  10. Congratulations on getting through all the hurdles to approval!!! That is wonderful news!
  11. Yes!!!!! I was just talking to my husband about this. I am also 2 weeks out of surgery today. I stayed in the car while Hubs went into a local gas/fast food place to get something to drink. When he got back into the car all I could smell was the greasy fast food ON HIM. He didn't eat or even touch anything in the 4 minutes he was there, but I would have sworn he brought some food with him. So gross!!!! At the grocery store I walked in through the front doors, stopped and told my husband I smell peppers really strongly. He didn't smell anything and neither could our teen son. As we got to the very back of the store they had a sample vegetable dip they were giving out to people with- slices of pepper to dip it with. I also agree about the garlic, which I normally LOVE. I keep smelling it on everyone.... Maybe it's our new superpower?
  12. I started biotin and L-Lysine about 3 months before surgery and I am still taking it. It is too early for me to know what will happen hair loss wise, but I was willing to give it a go. My regime was based on @GreenTealael 's post on hair loss with some interesting studies. If you search telogen effluvium you will probably find it. (Or maybe she will post it here- I wish she got paid per click for that post! Pretty sure she could take a nice vacation....)
  13. I guess anything is possible, but maybe you are speaking more confidently, projecting more or perhaps these people are now just paying attention more than they were before to the whole new you? Kinda like how a you can wear the same hair style for months, and then people who have literally seen it everyday suddenly comment on your " brand new" style.
  14. Yeah, those 5 spaghetti noodles must have been tasty..... ?
  15. Glad you are home and doing well. Congratulations!
  16. I hope you get the answers you need and feel better soon.
  17. I used a recliner some after surgery, then my regular bed was fine.
  18. That is a wonderful NSV! (non scale victory) All your hard work is really paying off. I hope you take a moment to really feel some pride in how far you have come and to celebrate YOU! AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! ???
  19. Congrats! Pretty soon you will get that good news and you will be on your way!
  20. Thanks for this @FluffyChix. Really interesting! As someone who had two boys, one at age 22 , with medical help, and another at age 32 without help - a wonderful surprise- this might make some sense. Hmmmm....
