I have my 6 month check-up in 10 days and will be 6 months post-op the 25th. I have lost 75 pounds and am happy with it. I can fit into a booth easily now and overall feel much better. I still have 85 pounds to lose, but taking it one day at a time and hopefully can get there by 1.5 year post-op. Stay in touch everyone!

This month is 6 months out now for us 2019 February sleeve Surgery twins!
How are we all doing? Any common problems? Everyone looking and feeling great?
I am down over 90lbs. and would love to lose another 25-30 lbs. - but as expected losing is getting slower.
    Only negative issues for me so far;
    1. I was really tired for a few months after surgery butt that is better now, much more energy than before surgery!
    2. I have woken up several times at night choking on stomach acid. Not eating for a couple hours before bed, and we got a bed that props my head up a bit and that seems to have resolved that for the most part at home, however when I travel for work I tend to eat later, and stay in hotels where the beds are flat is certainly when I have the issue most often.
    3. I do have some loose skin, but its not terrible...
    4. I have thrown up a few times but only if I take my Multivitamin on an empty sleeve...

For the positives - I Look better, I sleep better, I feel better, I( have more energy, and many more!
I hope you guys are all doing great - let us know!

Yeah. Sorry you are going through this. But you are right on time. Welcome to the club. IT happens to most of us about 6 months out. And it IS up to us how serious we treat this life changing surgery. IF you are not one of the "lucky ones" with super tight restriction, you have to really have a talk with yourself and decide how worth it is to you to continue to do the work.
What got my head back in the game was mixing things up and setting new goals, new wonky eating patterns etc. And I had to keep reminding myself that healthy food is where it's at from now on--not in snacky slider land. Start eating that dense Protein again!!! MAKE it hard. Food SHOULD feel hard to eat right now. You still want negative feedback. Don't go for easy. Stop the slider crap. Stop the snack habit. Just do it hon. You are worth it. You've come too far to stop now. Reach for the sky. Reach for your goals.

How are my fellow February sleevers doing? Haven't heard much from you guys in awhile!
I'm 7 weeks out, feeling good, and adapting well to my forever diet.
I lost 22 lbs. on the 2 week pre-op diet, however I have only lost another 32 lbs. in 7 weeks post-op. But combined that's 54lbs. in 9 weeks and I'll take that!

I had surgery July 2018 and was 390 at my heaviest. The day of surgery I was 368 and today I am 257. I have lost 133 pounds! Weight loss is definitely harder at 9 months out. I am trying to go to the gym three times a week, but I can’t always make it due to my work commute and kid obligations. My goal is to make it to 230 by my one year anniversary this summer, but I am almost doubting myself. I lost weight quickly during the honeymoon period so at five months I had already lost well over 100 pounds, but sticking to a plan and hoping for a positive outcome. The best part is dropping six pant sizes. I use to be a 26/28 and now size 16 in regular woman section. The biggest NSV has been able to fit and ride in a roller coaster after almost 18 years of riding one for the last time. I rode 4 roller coasters with my boys a few weeks ago at an amusement park. Looking forward to traveling in an airplane next week without having to use a seatbelt extender. Congrats to all on your success!

Started pre-op (8/27/18) at my highest of 414.5, surgery weight I was 382 (9/25/18) and today I am 270.8 and so much happier! I’ve been working out 5x a week including a CrossFit class and jogging a little. Sure I have a major hanging belly and my arms are like wings and my boobs are flat saggy pancakes, but I feel 100% better! Proud of all of us for taking care of ourselves!

So, I got home at 10 PM last night. It was a long day! They thought I had a leak. 1 cat scan, upper Gi and back to the cat scan and he says I'm ok. He said he's never seen air bubbles at 3 weeks post op.
I must have a virus. I was so weak and ran a fever for 3 days. I seen to feel a little better, but still weak. I'm going to try and get more food in today. I'm at 40 lbs lost and I've not had a lot of nutrition. I ate some fruit, first time since surgery and going to eat eggs in a bit.
Thanks for all your concerns! I love this site! You ALL are amazing!!😘😘

So tired. Went to the Dr this morning bacause I'm not feeling any energy, in fact it's worse. 17 days post-op. Have had to start metformin & glimeperide again. Forgot to tell the Dr I've had diarrhea since yesterday, so waiting on Dr to call back and see if they want to add more blood work. I'm wondering if I'm dehydrated? I'm lucky to get 45 ounces in. Can't stomach whey Protein. Took one sip and started to gag. I may have to go to the hospital at this point. Any ideas?

Hi friends! Just got to overweight today!! I am 5’2”. I weighed 235lb on surgery day, and today I weighed 160.8. It has been 6 months 2 weeks and 3 days since surgery (August 17th). What I have learned:

    1) you will still be hungry
    2) you will still have cravings
    3) you will still love food
    4) you pretty much can’t eat and you have to always be aware with what you are putting in your mouth. My favorite food is pizza and I’ve had it about 4 times since. I loved Pasta, but I never ever eat it alone like I used to.

This way of living has been forced upon me because of surgery. Before I would binge, now I mindfully eat always. The first couple months were the worst. I was depressed and missed food so much, but I stuck with it Bc I didn’t want to feel like a failure. Now it is a habit to eat the way I do. Please keep that in mind. Force this habit on you from the beginning.

    Thanks for posting this Everythinganna--
I just moved from purees to solid food tonight and had my first "meal." We have a family favorite, a green bean casserole, and my husband made it for dinner. It has green Beans, chicken, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken Soup, chicken broth, and saltine crackers in it. It is delicious and I figured since it contained beans and cheese, it was a good Protein option. I ate about a half a cup and am STUFFED. It tasted so good that I wanted to eat more, but I just couldn't and I found myself to be very frustrated. I hated been so stuffed so fast, but I guess that is what this is all about--eating less. I also have a sharp pain/discomfort in my tummy so I know I ate over my limit. I am finding that waiting to drink Water for 30 minutes after a meal is HARD. I have zero room for it, though. If you are a member of the "clean plate club" like me (that's how many of us grew up, right?) I am guessing you get how frustrating this is. I think I hit a level 7 and need to strive for level 5. I'll try for that tomorrow as I'm bringing leftover casserole to work tomorrow for lunch.

You should talk to your surgeon and nutritionist. There is just no way you can not lose weigh! Are you eating under 800 calories and 50 g of carbs? Are you getting 60-80 g of Protein a day and 64 oz of Water? Are you exercising 30 min a day? Are you limiting sugar and not drinking and eating at the same time? Are you eating protein first? I would be amazed if you did all of the above and did not lose. When i am doing the above and perfect i lose at least 3 lbs a week, usually closer to 5

If you like chocolate pudding, you can make a Protein pudding with three scoops of chocolate Protein Powder in 250ml (1 cup) of 1% milk. Blend with a hand mixer or whisk. Makes 5 pouch sized (3oz) servings each with 18g of protein.

Stalls come and go you will see the scale drop again soon. Our Biggest enemy is Defeat because that's when we go back to old Habits that caused us needing the Surgery in the first place. Stick to your Plan and give your body a little time to catch up.

Thanks so much, Marine. I'm surprised at how good I'm feeling now that I'm at home. However, I feel like I'm a week behind in terms of my recovery. My main challenge is getting enough Water and protein--I'm only managing about half of both. I've lost 3 pounds this first week, which is a little disappointing, but it wasn't really a normal work.

Hi, Frou Frou and everyone else. Thanks so much for your messages of encouragement during a rather dark week for me (which is why I haven't responded for a few days).
I had a mini-surgery to correct the leak on Wednesday at 10:00 in the evening! (A nurse came into my room at about 2:00 and told me I had to stop eating and drinking immediately--and she got very cranky when I finished the bowl of Jello in I had in front of me.) It was not performed by my surgeon, but I didn't care at that point. It wasn't full anesthesia but what they called "twilight sedation." No idea what that means, but it is apparently much easier on the body and recovery is very quick. I think the entire thing took about 30 minutes via a hole in my side.
I got to come home this morning feeling amazingly good--little pain, no nausea, no dumping. The only thing is that I can't seem to stay awake for more than 90 minutes at a time before I need a nap. I'm also managing only about half of the daily Water and Protein quota, and I can't believe how full I feel all the time! I've actually drunk water to the point of pain several times, but I'm learning when to stop. I'm sure it will improve with time, but right now I can't imagine eating actual food. I'm basically at the starting block, where I would have been last Tuesday if I had been discharged from the hospital the day after surgery as planned.
Thanks again for your support during the week--it really made a difference.
