  1. I couldn't tolerate them after surgery, because they were just to sweet. I now have one a day just to get in the the 30 grams of protein, because I don't think there is enough hours in the day for me to get in 60-64grams from food plus 64oz water.
  2. Congratulations on a successful surgery. I have no incite on lactose shakes but wanted to say that drinking will get easier. Yesterday was one month after sleeve and my surgery went well no complications. Glad to say that I've added spinning to my workout regimen as of yesterday. Right now my foods are limited as I am in the soft food stage and my meal consist mainly of yogurt, bean soups, egg and cheese, spinach and protein shakes. Water intake can be challenging at times but I do my best. Best of luck to a healthy you!
  3. @curlygirlgetsfitCongratultions on your journey, you are in good hands at Mt. Sinai. My surgeon was Dr.Dong and I cant say enough good things about he and his staff. If you are uptown, and you can please come to the class in June lots of information. They also have a FB group. Wishing you the best.
  4. Lol @Frustr8 It was actually delicious and I am actually doing well with eggs. Well cooked for sure, I can't do the runny or soft boiled. Soft scrambled with cheese is OK.
  5. I am discouraged about going out to eat. I went out to brunch for the first time since surgery and I had a Greek omelet. I was only capable of eating about 3-4 small pieces and ended up taking the rest home. I also struggled with my water intake this past weekend.
  6. Crush a piece of ginger and poor hot water over it. Let it sit for a few minutes then sip. You can so boil the crush ginger.
  7. Mine was discovered during the pre OP phase. Hang in there it will get better.
  8. I recommend bringing a small bottle of water just in case.
  9. Yaayyy Shanda, I am so happy to hear that you are doing great.
  10. Shanda wishing you a successful surgery today. !!
  11. I got this recipe from Baritastic and made it on Saturday without the zucchini and it was delicious. I had my last piece today. I will be trying it with zucchini and eggplants. Thanks for sharing.
  12. It's very nice. You cant go wrong in a tankini . I usually buy one size down in swim suits. Enjoy!
  13. I feel better when I weight my food and eat from a 4 oz bowl. My dietitian wants me to eat 5 small meals a day and provided me with a daily eating plan of 4oz increments. I haven't meat the 5 small meals yet due to me not having an appetite. From what I've read more accountability one have the more successful one will be.
  14. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I know your are excited. Everyone is different and it depends on your energy level after the surgery. I returned exactly one week no problem. I work in an office with lots of freedom to get up and eat as often as I need to. If you return within a week make sure you have the freedom to get up and walk and enough time to sip your water and drink your protein. Wishing you the best of luck!
  15. Asking for insurance ahead of time is to make sure that they are following your insurance company guidelines. Each insurance company varies on what is covered and their requirements.
  16. hahahahaha that'ts a good one. But for real though...
  17. Spinning is awesome. I used to do it about 3-4 days a week until I moved in 2017. When you are spinning it's like you are in another world especially when the music is good. I am looking to do it again at least once a week @KCgirl061 once you try it you will love it. I would also like to try Aqua spinning.
  18. The larger incision was painful even after a week. I am into week 2 and the pain is pretty much gone. As long as nothing is oozing out you should be fine. I switched up the way I sleep by alternating on each side. Also try not to lift anything heavy.
  19. I haven't had any complication since surgery on April 29th, but it looks like you are doing everything correct by notifying your doctors right away. I wish for you smooth sailing from now on. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  20. Congratulations on a successful surgery!!
  21. I had my post-op appointment today and I am down 11lbs from surgery date of 4/29. According to my Surgeon and my dietitian I am ahead of schedule for the weight I've lost far. I was advanced to soft cooked eggs soft vegetables (fish which I don't eat) and some fruits. I am doing well with my water, but need to increase protein to 64 oz. I found that I don't like anything that is sweet and I don't have an appetite. My incisions are healed and pain near the largest incision is pretty much gone. Starting weight-260 lbs Surgery Weight-244 lbs Current weight-233 lbs
  22. @sillykitty you made me smile. I guess I am looking at it in terms of me hitting a stall so soon, but I am loosing again. Overall I am very happy with the weight loss. I feel great and I am fitting into clothes I haven't worn in morning a year. Thankful for that and for this site.
  23. Don't be discouraged. I am a slow loser as well, I am down 11 lbs since surgery 2 weeks ago. I was stalled for a couple of days but it is moving again. I m doing exactly what I am suppose to do, drinking my water, eating my protein, taking my vitamins and walking on the treadmill. I am not hungry, and I have no cravings. Don't give up we got this.
  24. Don't feel discouraged I am a slow looser to. I am two weeks out and when I went home from the hospital I was 9lbs more than the day of surgery. Today I am down 11 lbs since surgery, 22 lbs in total when I add the weight I lost during the liver fast and 27lbs since October. I felt discouraged but my co workers are telling me that I am loosing weight although they don't know that I had surgery lol. My cloths are fitting me loose and I had to remove 2 links from my watch. We will get there.
  25. Yes, I just had my VSG on the 29th April and my period came the day before. Let the nurse know so that they can give you underwear and pads. I was annoyed because it was 10 days early but it wasn't a big deal. It was funny when they asked when was my last period and my reply was NOW. lol. Good luck...
