  1. Wow! That's fast! I don't get my first fill till March 10th but they are pretty aggressive with fills. He said he was going to give me about 4.5 cc. How are you feeling? I'm still having some port pain. It really feels like an uncomfortable pulling. I think I just heal slow. I get to start mushies this weekend. YAY!!
  2. Are you supposed to be eating regular foods this early out? I was banded on the 19th and I'm still on liquids. Yes, in the last few days I have started to experience real hunger. This stage is tough and you have to rely on some willpower. Please stick to your surgeon's plan. Restriction could be several fills away. Good luck!!
  3. Hey Everybody! I'm at home now too. Everything went well. My doctor did say my anatomy is a little strange in that all my organs are really close together so he said he really had to stitch my band in there tight which just means I'm extra sore. I'm pretty bruised and beat up feeling and just plain tired. I'm doing really well with getting my liquids and drank my Protein for lunch. I'm on Clear Liquids till my follow up on the 27th and won't be on regular food till 6 weeks post op. My doctor is very conservative and believes the stomach needs to heal during this time. I'm ok with it because I really don't feel hungry!! I hope you all are feeling ok. Get some rest and I'll be checking back on everyone.
  4. Yay!! Just one more sleep and it will be our turn =) I feel ready. I'm drinking loads of water and packing my overnight bag. I've already lost 7 pounds in 3 days *LOL* Good luck everyone!!!!!!!! I'll report back as soon as I'm up to being on the computer. Big hugs to all. We can do this:thumbup:
  5. Well I'm glad to hear your pre- op diet is getting easier. I start what I affectionately call "starvation mode" tomorrow. I think I'm just going to have to keep busy this weekend so I don't think about food. My doctor's office called today and apparently my labs came back showing I had a UTI so now I have to take some antibiotics before the surgery. Luckily, my surgeon gave me all my scripts before hand so I can take something for nausea if the meds make me sick (no food and antibiotics= yuck). I'm a little nervous about going under too. The only surgery I've ever had is a c-section so we'll see how this compares. My doc says it's a cake walk compared a to c-section. I hope that's true:tongue2:
  6. I'm sorry you had such a terrible hospital experience. I would definitely let them know that. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well at home though. Rest up!!
  7. Hey guys and gals! I don't really have a pre-op diet per say. I do Clear liquids for 3 days before surgery and that's it. It's definitely not too bad compared to what other people have to go through. Does anyone else have to stay overnight in the hospital? I do. They do a barium swallow the next day and I'll go home late in the afternoon on Tuesday. Guess that's ok as I could use the rest (I have a 6 and 1.5 yr old) *LOL* I'm taking a week off work. What about the rest of you?
  8. I'm being banded on the 19th too! I had my pre-op visit with the surgeon yesterday and Monday is pre-op class and meeting with anesthesia. Not too long now. I've been feeling weird. So many emotions. Excited, nervous, sometimes even a little depressed. I suppose that's normal though:unsure:
  9. Congrats!!!!!!!! I'm glad to hear you're feeling well and not hungry =) I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Not long now!
  10. Thank you! It is hard for me sometimes because I feel like I do love myself, except for my outerwards appearance. I guess I want the outside to match the inside =) Congrats on all your success!!
  11. Oh yes, I'm nervous for sure. Not so much about the actual surgery. I think I'm just afraid of afterwards. I want to succeed so badly! How long are you taking off work? I'm taking a week but then I have to go right back. Hopefully, I'll bounce back quickly =)
  12. Hi everyone! I'm getting banded January 19th!! It's getting close and I'm so excited!
  13. Well, my surgery is not for another month but I'm getting really excited! I'm looking forward to: 1) not leaking urine on myself (stress incontinence) 2) not always avoiding being on top when I'm intimate with my husband because I don't want him to see my fat bouncing around 3) not stuffing my stomach into too tight jeans and then taking them off at night and seeing the huge gouge marks they made on my stomach 4) not dreaming about what it would be like to feel beautiful
  14. Hi Everyone!! My name is Melissa too =) I live in Pensacola and will be banded by Dr. Lord on January 19th. Nice to meet you all!
  15. Hi Everyone!! I just got my surgery date today, January 19th! It has been a long road as I had to do the 6 month diet and all my tests before they submit to my insurance and now that I'm approved, my doctor is booked all the way through the holidays. Kinda stinks because I'm a school nurse and I have 2 weeks off at Christmas time anyway. Now, when I come back to school I'll only be there for 2 weeks and then off for another week. I feel a little guilty but I know I have to do this for myself. :cursing:
