  1. Hi there! I know what you mean about the questions. It seems like the more I get answered the more further questions I have. I'm not having surgery until June 4th, but I'll share some things I've found. Reply to your questions: 1. The place I've found with the most selection is Rite Aid. They also have a site online, www.drugstore.com . I've heard that the "best" ones are ProPerformace 100% whey... and to mix them with milk instead of Water and if you plan your calories right, 2 scoops of power tastes better than 1. I haven't tried them yet, I'm going to get some this week and give them a try. I heard the chocolate Caramel is delicious. I've also heard that walmart has some Protein powders that are less expensive, but a toss up with taste quality. 2. Tell them the truth. The truth being, you are eating smaller portions and exercising more. That's my plan. 3. I don't know. I'm assuming everyone recovers at a different pace. Probably just take it easy, no hanging upside down from the chandeliers the night you come home. 4. Here's a thread for some ideas: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/stuff-you-need-home-58577/ 5. Ask your doctor for certain, but here is what mine sends out: (link to thread with scanned post-op sheet) A Copy of Dr. Miranda's Post Op Guidelines - Lap Band Forum - Lap Band Surgery, Dr. Ariel Ortiz, Lap Band in Mexico I hope this helps!!
  2. Yes, there are risks of death with Lap Band. There are also risks of death with being obese. (Not to mention the risks of death in general activities like driving, flying, walking across the street, etc.)
  3. I don't mean to be a bother, but my name doesn't have the date next to it. I'm getting banded June 4th. :cursing:
  4. My packet came with options for pre-op diets. I think I'm going to go with the 1 week of Protein shakes. SO, that means I would start the Tuesday after Memorial Weekend. I've started searching some recommended brands, but nothing has really jumped out as sounding great tasting. Have you decided what day you'll start your pre-op diet? We can support each other.
  5. I'll be going to Dr. Ortiz on June 4th. I'll scope things out for you.
  6. Hi! I've been lurking for a while, but decided to join so I could be on the line up. I'm scheduled to get banded by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico on June 4th!!!
