I just downed a medium sized bowl of fruit salad in one sitting, how is this possible?!
Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you should. You should be eating no more than 1/2 cup of anything at this point.

Travel for work after surgery
I took a cruise 2 months post-op with no trouble, but you'll be flying so access to food is a little harder. I'd still say 2 months might be the right amount of time.

New Here
I'm 54 and had the sleeve 5.5 months ago with no complications and no problems. Good luck on your WLS journey.

GASTRIC SLEEVE WOES
That calorie range sounds right. I don't know why it's not working. Are you tracking how much protein you're getting? Are you drinking your 64 oz of water each day? I don't know what to tell you. Hang in there.

Doubts about sleeve option
Both are viable options. I'm coming up on six months post-op sleeve and have lost 35 pounds.

Cpap and sleeve
I was able to get off the CPAP within 3 months post-op, but you don't want to just stop using it because you don't want to stop breathing in your sleep.

eating whole wheat bread
If you can tolerate it and you're not overdoing it, I'd say it's okay. I still can't eat bread, especially something soft like a tortilla or it gives me the foamies.

I didn't think I'd be one to fall off the wagon
You lost an incredible amount of weight, that's GREAT! So you gained back a few, it's okay, you've got this. You know how many calories to eat, you know to focus on protein, you know to drink 64 oz of water each day. You can do it!

Woo hoo! Onderland!
Congrats! Way to go! It's so exciting!

Chickened Out On Surgery Day. Help.
I have anxiety attacks, but I didn't have one with surgery. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know it's disappointing for you. Talk with a good therapist and maybe get on some anti-anxiety medication and they'll be able to reschedule you for the surgery. Good luck!

Day 1 - I'm in SO MUCH PAIN - advice please
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I had no pain after surgery, just nausea for the first 24 hours. I think it all gets better after the first day, so hang in there.

Do You Do This?
I was one of those people. Post-op now I feel like I have more control of both my emotions and hunger and although I've had some stress and been tempted to eat an entire box of doughnuts or something, I was able to say "No, I don't need it and it's not going to make anything better."

Vegas Vacation After VSG Food and Alcohol Thoughts
I took a two-week cruise two months post-op sleeve and it was easy to watch what I ate by focusing on staying hydrated and making good choices of protein before anything else. I don't drink, so alcohol wasn't an issue for me. I think you can do this!

So full and nauseated
Wouldn't your nausea be morning sickness and your hunger be pregnancy-related? Have you talked to your bariatric office for advice?
-
Pre-op diet blues
It's good practice for how you'll be eating post-op. You can do it!

Gastric sleeve and lower Back Pain
I don't see the two as having any relationship to the other. Disc herniations don't just go away. Are you seeking chiropractic or other care for your back? Take care.

Weight Gain 1yr post VGS
You haven't failed, my goodness, you kept 64 pounds off! That's GREAT! You will be able to get those 14 pounds back off with tracking your calories, getting in 64 oz of water, and getting in 60 oz of protein daily. You can do this!

Hospital
Hospitals and insurance companies have guidelines to follow. Maybe they'll work with you on making payments so that you can have the surgery as planned.

Starting the process of getting the sleeve
Good luck with your decision. The surgery is a tool and the rest is up to us to eat right and exercise. It's harder to do on your own when you have thyroid issues (me too!).

Overtraining & Stalls???? Frustrated.....
Stalls can be so frustrating and demotivating and it makes us question if we need to be taking in fewer calories or more calories or less exercise or more exercise. In the end, our bodies are gonna do what they're gonna do and we just have to know we're doing all the right things.

Pain after advancing to soft food stage VSG
Only after food? I would have said it was the incision site in the muscle if you hadn't mentioned it happens when you eat.

Factor 5 Leiden
Thank you! Did you have shots to take home also? I planned on walking a ton and I also have the massaging calf thing at home I plan on using! No, I didn't have to do the shots or blood thinners

Stomach Growling!
My stomach makes growling noises, but I haven't had any hunger issues.
