Factor 5 Leiden
I have that too but I didn't have any trouble with blood clots. I made sure to walk around a LOT in the hospital and once I got home post-op and while you're in the hospital they use those things that massage your calves to prevent blood clots and I made sure to use them any time I was in the bed.

Eating disorder preop
Surgery doesn't take away the head hunger. That's something you have to work on.

Goal Weight
I can relate to what you're saying. Now that I've lost weight I feel even fatter than I was when I started and I worry so much about it. Congrats on your success, you look great!

Benefits of Bariatric Surgery
I saw this graphic and thought it was a good one to share, especially for those members here who are pre-op and exploring whether or not WLS is for them. At 5.5 months post-op sleeve I have already gotten rid of my Acid Reflux/GERD, no more sleep apnea, and no more migraines. I can't wait until I see my primary to get labs done to see how my cholesterol and other labs have improved. WLS was definitely the right choice for me.

Thanks for sharing. I sometimes can't believe how many cookies I used to eat.

Bathing Suits
I never worried about being seen in a bathing suit, even at my heaviest. I enjoy the pool, so I didn't care what other people thought.

protein shakes make me puke
That's a shame. I've heard of other people not liking protein shakes on here in the forums. I like them. I use premade GNC Lean Shakes (chocolate)

What To Eat When The Honeymoon Wears Off - OAC
I still like drinking protein shakes, but I learned from the article that eating solid food is important, so I'll try harder to do that. Good article, thanks for sharing.

Air Fryer
I haven't tried an Air Fryer. It is worth it?

What did you do with your old clothes and pictures after weight loss surgery success
Why would I do anything with my old pictures? I've donated the larger clothes to a charity thrift store.

Gastric sleeve surgery leak
Your poor thing. Such a lot to go through. Praying for your recovery and healing.

Depressed
There's an infamous Week 4 stall that nearly everybody goes through. It's normal. No worries. Let the stalls happen and the weight will get moving afterward. Your body just went through a major trauma. It's trying to catch up.

Bypass or Sleeve?
It's talked about a lot here on this forum. Check out the posts of people who've had each and the pros and cons of each. It's a personal decision that's up to you. I chose sleeve and I'm happy with it.

Hooray, good for you!

Telling family, friends, work, etc.
I didn't tell anybody. I still haven't told anybody. A few people have asked "How are you losing your weight?" and I just shrug it off or say, honestly, "Diet and exercise"

Did you need help at home?
I didn't need help.

Dieticians/nutritionists question
I saw mine once before surgery, had a phone conversation and have seen her twice post-op. She's available to me at no charge at any time.

2nd week weight loss stall
Stalls are normal parts of the weight loss process and we can't prevent them.

ACID REFLUX/HEART BURN
Mine was pretty intense right after I started solid and continued for about a month, then it went away and I haven't had acid reflux or GERD since then.
