  1. He is right though, it IS going to get better. Hang in there.
  2. There's an old wives tale that when an incision or cut or a wound starts itching, it means it's healing.
  3. Welcome to the club! Good luck on your WLS journey.
  4. I think you've just invented the "Bearded Dragon Diet for Bariatric Patients"! ??
  5. I never took my CPAP on vacation because, like you, I was diagnosed with "milk" Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I had a regular annual appointment at 3 months post-op after having lost 50 pounds and told the doctor I didn't feel I needed the CPAP anymore, so they gave an at-home sleep kit and lo and behold, I no longer had Sleep Apnea!
  6. The foods that still give me the foamies six months post-op are: steak, soft tortillas, shredded chicken
  7. I have a protein shake for breakfast (170 calories), ham and cheese for lunch (140 calories), protein peanut butter fudge for a snack (140 calories) and another protein shake for dinner (170 calories)
  8. I do the premade GNC Lean Shakes. The Atkins Protein Plus shakes aren't bad either. You can eat solid food now, right? Some cheese, cottage cheese, peanut butter might add some protein.
  9. You can walk now. You can do cardio in two weeks. You can do weight lifting in 6 weeks (nothing more than 10 pounds until then)
  10. You won't be able to sleep tonight because of the big day tomorrow. Congrats! Good luck on your WLS journey.
  11. You can just tell them that you need the week off for medical reasons without having to tell them what the medical reasons are.
  12. That's a weird thing for a surgeon to say. Most of them just recommend ANY form of exercise 30 minutes 4 or 5 times a week. You might consider a second opinion
  13. Good luck on your WLS journey
  14. I haven't had any labs done since my surgery. I guess I need to get some done to check how things are going.
  15. I'm glad I don't drink alcohol
  16. You might want to consider some therapy to deal with those food feelings and what's going on in your life right now.
  17. I have a gallbladder, but no medication. I've never heard of this before.
  18. 1. Weigh and measure all of your food. 2. Food plan three meals and one snack each day. 3. can't help you with this one; I'm retired, but you could keep almonds or protein bars in your drawer at work
  19. I guess a general surgeon could do bariatric surgery, as they do all kinds of different procedures, but I'd want someone who specialized in bariatric surgery, had a proven track record, was Board Certified, and had done it thousands of times.
  20. I'm taking biotin and using Minoxidil to hopefully stave off any hair loss.
  21. Did you check the sugar and carb content on it? Some other premade drinks are higher in protein and lower in sugar.
  22. Yes, at this point you should be weighing and measuring everything you put into your mouth to ensure you're staying below 1/2 cup.
  23. I think you look great, but you're the one who has to be happy.
  24. I'm glad your husband listened. I've never seen that show. My hubby has been super supportive.
