Too Much Protein?
Thanks for asking. He's lost 12.5 pounds in 2 weeks and his fasting blood glucose went from averaging 130's to 140's down to 91 or 92. He also has a little less back pain (inflammation) now. He's 56 years old and started out weighing 270.

Support Help
My husband has been very supportive, but I also had to be understanding that just because I'm eating smaller portions and watching what I eat doesn't mean I can force him to do the same thing. Including the weight I lost pre-surgery I'm down 64 1/2 pounds and he's very proud of me and giving me compliments, which I really appreciate. He helps me make good choices to remember small portions and the right foods when we dine out at a restaurant in case I forget.

Too Much Protein?
I'm currently on a 60-day "Carnivore Diet" with my husband who is doing it to improve his blood sugar and inflammation (He's diabetic). We're eating nothing but meat, cheese, and eggs for 60 days.

It feels like sabotage!!
That's different considering she's been there, done that. Give it to a neighbor and don't eat it. Have the "You need to be supportive" talk with her again.

Im sure hundreds have felt this way BUT MY BOOBS ARE GONE!
Mine were already starting to droop before the WLS, but then again I am 54, so I guess age and gravity took its toll. I'm considering a breast lift after I reach my goal weight.

Is it possible to lose weight just from protein shakes and VLCD???
For months prior to having WLS I drank nothing but shakes and I lost a little (15 pounds). I still drink a protein shake every day and I use GNC Lean Shakes premade.

Looking for encouraging positive stories
I'm 7 months post-op sleeve and 54 years old. I never had a single problem or complication. I had GERD for many years prior to the surgery and now I don't have it at all. I don't have Sleep Apnea anymore. I don't have High Blood Pressure anymore. I've lost a fair amount of weight and have another 6-12 months of losing to do.

1 month post op appointment
Don't be in a hurry, any loss is a good loss. You're doing GREAT! Just keep up the good work. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Pre-op work out
I don't think you have to slack off just because you'll be having surgery. But . . . that being said . . . you might feel differently or have less energy on your pre-op diet, so play it by ear.

Day 1 on the Pre Op Diet!
You can do it, it's only two weeks, good luck on your surgery and your WLS journey.

Blacking Out?
I get occasional orthostatic hypotension (low bp) when standing up from a seated position, but I don't pass out, but I get lightheaded and see stars and have to grab onto something for a few seconds until I get stable.
