  1. Hi JEM I'm seriously considering the surgery and am planing on attending the next seminar in Orange. I live in Riverside County (Idyllwild) not too far from you.) What's your experience with Dr. Oliak?
  2. Does anyone have Health Net, and if so, did they cover your O Band surgery?
  3. Does anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with any Dr.s in Southern California???
  4. << Lost 165 pounds in one year. Endured port reattachment surgery, gallbladder removal. Major slip, Dr. Hamn said caused by my major weight loss. TriCare Prime refused to do anything but pay to have it removed. Attempted "fix" of band 4.10.05, Dr. Louis Fox (my saint) Continued slippage, no fill, major reflux Band removed and replaced 4.24.08, Dr. Louis Fox much scar tissue removed and hiatal hernia repaired. >> Kimberly, wow, you went through so much! How did you lose SO much weight in the first year? Did you do a special diet along with the surgery? So, you had the surgery, then a reattachment surgery, then another surgery to take the old one out and put a new one in? What's reflux? Your insurance wouldn't pay for this??? So you had to pay for the new surgery out of your own pocket?? Sorry for so many questions, I am seriously considering this surgery and I want to be prepared.) Melissa
  5. Okay, so what's this "restriction" that everyone is praying for?) Please explain, I'm a total Newbie.)
  6. Hi all! I'm so glad I found this site. I've been thinking about getting the O Band surgery for months and months. I've been on every diet in the world, still I'm 270 pounds. I've been a vegan for the past few months and haven't lost anything..... I've lost and gained the same 50 pounds so many times it's unbelievable. I have Health Net Insurance and I'm not sure if they cover the surgery, but I sure hope so. I'm planing on going to a seminar in the next couple of weeks. What kind of side affects are there from the surgery? I have a difficult time with constipation (since birth, believe it or not) so I take about 60 grams of Fiber a day plus over 1 liter of Water a day....has anyone had problems with taking fiber?? Or any Vitamins for that matter?? How long did everyone have to wait for approval from insurance companies? Oh, I have so many questions...sorry. If anyone wants to e-mail me directly with their story, feel free: RMBeckwith87@yahoo.com Thanks for all your input. Melissa
