Haven’t had too many issues with purées or even soft foods. tuna and chicken seem to do ok - even tried a tiny bit of very tender roast (hey. I make it I try it. ;). Lol!!). I haven’t tried eggs yet - maybe tomorrow. The only thing that has disagreed with me is pudding, weirdly enough.

Barb. So sorry to hear all the pain you have been through! I had a sleeve in April 2015 and while not as severe as yours, I had a lot of problems with reflux and pain and gain afterwards. I had a revision to RNY 13 days ago....and I feel AMAZING. Pain is gone. Reflux gone. It’s truly remarkable how well I feel!! I was apprehensive as well but I am so glad I did it. I feel like I got myself and my life back.

January 16th here - I was hoping for a December date, but thanks to my insurance requiring a specific hospital, January it is. Ironically, I start the presurgical diet on New Years Day - quite the new years resolution!

3 days post op and this gas NEEDS. TO. GO. Otherwise I feel great and can bend and twist like an aerobics instructor. ;). But the gas?? It’s like a 50 pound weight. Ugh.

trasib got a reaction from carolinafirefly in GERD, EGD results, and Sleeve vs. Bypass?
i had some mild heartburn pre Gastric sleeve back in 2015. Nothing I would ever classify as terrible - I and my doctor attributed it to a side effect of carrying so much extra weight.
Fast forward to today. I have major GERD, all the makings of Barretts, a healthy hernia I've named Herbert and reflux levels off the charts. I am going in for a revision from sleeve to RNY on Wednesday.
My surgeon (same for both procedures) wishes he had gone with his gut and ordered the EGD before surgery last time as his method may have changed. I dont blame him one bit, however, and we're both pretty sure it came about as a result of the sleeve- both are known complications, unfortunately
Whatever you decide is best for you - I wish you all the luck in the world!

15 hours post op. First few hours were really rough with grogginess and pain. Turned out to be from the gas they pump in you. I won the “can she pee any more frequently” award as I think it’s been almost every 45 minutes ...LOL... but feeling pretty good considering!

Surgery date - yesterday!! Rough night last night with a lot of pain that ended up being due to the gas they pump in you. No one here let’s you sleep either. ;). I’m about 14 hours post op now and feeling pretty good- 7 walks under my belt, keeping Water down and I am dreaming of Jello. ;)

I had revision surgery from sleeve to bypass on 1/10. The revision was needed to address my out of control GERD that was not responding to medications. I have unfortunately hit the “trifecta” of weight loss surgeries. Banded in 2007, sleeved in 2015 after the band began leaking, and now in the process of recovering from bypass. I never had GERD until I had the sleeve. Wish I had skipped the sleeve and gone to bypass directly. To top it off, I was self pay all the way! BUT - I have no regrets. Good luck with your decision making journey and I wish you the best❤️

Good luck to you tomorrow - I'll be watching for your updates Someone else said it here but please - let them know about your anxiety and they will help you with some - I think they said "Happy Juice". My first surgery was an emergency procedure about 10 years ago and I was a wreck. They anticipate nerves and WILL help you through it. Remember to breathe! We're all behind you!!

Two days til surgery - lets get this thing going!! Life has been super hectic since I started the 2 week preop liquid diet... my car was totalled by a wrong way driver the day I started (everyone is ok...my poor new car is in SUV heaven) so every moment I have has been spent on working, dealing with that or trying to find a new car before I have surgery. Which, I will admit, has helped distract me! I cheated big time on Saturday - after 12 hours of car shopping AFTER working a 10 hour overnight shift at work - I was tired, crabby and...yes...STARVING. So...I MAY have had about 2 ounces of salmon with my miso broth dinner. Ok..and a potsticker and a half. Only human

Just say no! I havent had a soda since before my first procedure in 2015 - so probably 4 solid years now. Occasionally I DO get a craving, especially if I am out to dinner with people guzzling down sodas. Root Beer for some reason is like a huge one. I've allowed myself sips here and there over the years and honestly? The taste is TERRIBLE to me now and keeps the cravings away for a while. You can do it!

Agreed! If you have reflux now it will only get worse with a sleeve imo. Mine did. Revision coming up in 30 days

I am experiencing the same thing. And I have been sleeping with a heating pad the last couple of nights. My surgery is in 9 days and I am already down 8lbs. From my last weigh in at my doctor's office. I hope you feel better soon.
