  1. So this past year has been HELL for me. Not only am I now almost done with a divorce from my middle school sweetheart xs 3 kids, because he was cheating with the 17 year old babysitter. Yep walked in and caught them in our bed. He said he loved me still not in love with me I wasn't young and pretty anymore. I also lost 2 of my beloved pups. Had to start travel nursing to make ends meet, leaving my youngest daughter with him mostly. Being a nurse during this time is trying enough. Then got caught up in the middle of a shoot out at a gas station. All this stress and I started eating bad again. Gained 40 lbs of the 110lbs lost. I absolutely hate me now. I don't even know where to start to get back on track. How do you eat right living out of a hotel room. How do I handle all these sweet cravings I have from the stress. Please help me with any advice. I have been so depressed that I thought of ending it at times. Feeling like a failure. Ps. I start counseling soon.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

That is one of the questions my Dr. asked me about. When I told him yes he said it was common to get yeast growth in the stomach after this kind of surgery. He gave me Nyastatin swish and swallow to help. Maybe it would an idea to ask your DR about it.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I don't know how you are going back so early. I couldn't do anything the first week. I was so weak and having lots of trouble taking in fluids and protein, I was getting any. I passed out thanksgiving day. I learned to take it easy not to push it and rest when I needed to rest. The second week I started to feel better. Today is 2 weeks and one day. I'm still not up to my normal energy level but I feel so much better. It was very hard for me to drink liquids because of the discomfort and pain when it hit my stomach. My Dr told me yesterday that it should stop around 2 months. So yes it gets easier but don't push it. I think we should call the first two weeks HELL weeks. lol. I wish all the luck going back so early. Keep us updated.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Just an update. I had surgery Nov.16th. Had my 2 week follow up yesterday. I have lost 20lbs since surgery and 41lbs since I begin this journey. He also told me that the issue with the stomach pain when drinking liquids should go away in about 2 months. So I got a good check and go back in 30 days. How is all my other Nov, peeps doing? Love reading about every ones journey.
  5. I just finished posting on another thread about being discouraged and still having discomfort and pain when drinking liquids. Thinking maybe I made a mistake having this surgery. Then I see this thread and I read all of the comments and I'm sitting here at 2am smiling and thinking ok maybe not. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

What is wrong with me! Had my surgery Nov,16th today is one week, I was never excited about it like everyone else. I was nervous and scared and I still feel that way. The pain of the surgery was not bad at all but the discomfort of drinking liquids is so frustrating. Every sip I take I have to wait 5 mins or more before I can take another because is hurts in my stomach. Thanksgiving I almost passed out from dehydration. I'm not sure what I excepted but not being able to drink when I'm thirsty is not on the list. I have tried thicker soups like potatoe and cream of chicken and don't have the issue as bad. Now I'm thinking "was this the right thing for me to do. Maybe I should have been fat and happy seems better than the future of thin and miserable." Sorry just ranting and frustrated. Why can't I be happy about this like everyone else.
  7. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I need some in sight on vitamin patches. What does everyone else prefer? My surgeon gave us a list of vitamins to take the rest of our lives and they where all chewable. I bought some before surgery and tried them. I had to spit them out. I can not handle the taste. So I just purchased a package of vitamin patches off of the bariatric pal site. Anyone else use patches? Do they work well? I'm just concerned I want get the vitamins I need. I'm post op day 6 and I feel weak as it is. Thanks for any input.
  8. This is the first time since my Grandfather died 8 years ago, that my grandmother is cooking dinner. She does deep south southern cooking that makes you slap your mama. Everything from scratch and she cooks everything you could imagine. Lucky me is still on clear liquids.. YEA! (sarcasm) I'm 6 days post op. Half my family is against this surgery and the other half don't care. So this should be interesting for me. But as far as what I will do, I will have a glass with my sugar free juice walk around and socialize and help with the kids and hopefully no one will notice me not eating. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.
  9. Hey everyone, I am 3 day post op. I have been trying to take in my fluids with not much success. Whenever I sip my fluid I can feel it run down my throat and into my stomach. As soon as it hits my stomach it feels like a golf ball is stuck right above my stomach, Then I get strange noises from my stomach and it begins to fizz like when you open a coke, Next the fluid I just sipped comes back up midway. I have to keep swallowing to get it to go down. I can only do 2 sips in 30 mins, Also my heart has been having lots of palpatations. So much that its wakes out of sleep. Has anyone else been through this?? My Dr and nurse looked at me crazy when I told them this. Thanks for reading and happy losing

    Doomed

My Dr, does a 10 day liver shrieking diet. 7 day full liquid diet no sugar or bubbly drinks. 3 days clear liquid with the same rules and then nothing 12 hours before surgery and lots of fluid. I have chose power aide zero and water with MIO. So you have time. Don't give up. I couldn't even have food for 10 days working on day 7 now and I'm starving but I eat sugar free jello, warm flavored tea, chicken broth, sugar free hard candy, sugar free popsicles ect. Good luck!!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hey everyone. New here. My surgery is this Friday Nov.16. I had to do a 10 day liquid diet, no sugar, no carbonation, Then 3 day clear liquids before surgery. I just have to say I didn't realize how addicted to food I was. I have dreamed about food like never before and even to this minute consider cancelling the surgery because I'm so scared of being this hungry after surgery. I use to smoke and one day I decided I would never let anything have control of my life like cigs did. I would be in control at all times. I through them away and never looked back. I guess my eyes where not open to the fact, food had control of my life. So now I just need some support some motivational words to make it through this hurdle and take control. Cigs I never have to look at again but food is a necessity which makes it that much harder. Thanks for being here everyone.
