How to choose a realistic goal weight
BMI IS VAGUE it doesn't take into account a person's frame or build even the doctor said Today surgery is only going take care of maybe 80% of excess weight and after that you may still be in overweight by BMI

Is it possible to lose weight just from protein shakes and VLCD???
I'm just curious for those who had preop diets that was just shakes and liquids? Were you able to lose weight easily or did you need to include some physical activity as well If I chose 3 shakes a day I'll be looking around 500kcal a day and 80-90g protein, that is if I can manage to be satisfied just with protein shakes.. If you want to share how many weeks diet preop and how many shakes a day? I've got plenty of powder to mix up so that's not an issue!! Getting closer to surgery so curious tnx

Soon as the Dr saw how bad my sugar levels were he said bypass is the best option for diabetes sufferers, some people have been known to leave hospital diabetes free!

The differences between concentrate and isolate are negligible I've read many articles it's the lactose that is in concentrate that some people cannot stomach but side by side nutrient values are very similar especially when isolate can cost up to double

Premier Protein – Not Premier for Bariatric Patients!
There does seem to be a lot of pushing of his own products but that's his right and the people who choose to follow it. I personally shop around locally and online always looking for proper whey protein whenever it's on sale

Talking about WLS with children
I believe everything you will learn to do with healthy eating portion control should be passed onto them there's no reason for children to be obese it is down to the parents to model the good behavior

New and anxious
No classes here no diet monitoring just bloods and medical history check and weight check all done in 1 visit. next visit next week see surgeon then dietitian before surgery end of sep. As stated before doctor understands surgery is a last resort for most people who have already spent years dieting without success and I've done my own research online the last 12 months anyway..

September 2019 ??
My doctor doesn't ask for any dieting as he knows most people who ask for surgery have dieted before. Personally I've been dieting off and on for years so what's going to change because doctor asks and that's why my doctor doesnt ask for any just the preop diet of course

Dating? How do we do this??
Hope you figure it all out but I agree with above I'll be taking the year or two to myself to not only lose weight but to tone up, increase my self-esteem and confidence and to be completely ready to put myself out there.

Thoughts on sharing with extended family
Only told a few close family.. Again only did this for me and I will do it my way take it day by day definitely don't need strangers and others telling me what to do or judging me daily. it is also a personal process for me and my mental health as well there will be so many changes internally and externally and I cannot wait!!
