prepping for eventual surgery

i’ve been watching a LOT of vlogs and have seen several that weight comes back because of inability to overcome excess / poor diet. so, i decided to try a 11 day liquid diet. if i don’t have discipline now then i am unsure i’ll have discipline post surgery.

I am day 3 and yikes this is hard. i’m also a vegan and looking for hot / warm vegan liquids to eat. i’ve got shakes covered but i am wanting warm foods. i had some vegan vegetable broth but it’s 5kcal / cup and 0 protein.

i am dreading a cold shake.

anyone else do a mental prep like this? lord if i can’t make it i just worry i will blow it post vsg and have had irreversible surgery and spent 5k.

tia for any replies / advice!

I did a trial run the week before I actually had to start my 14 day liquid diet. I just wanted to make sure that I at least liked the things on my list so that when I actually started, i'd be ok. I lasted 4 days lol. It's freaking hard. So I gave myself normal food the last 3 days of that week and started over 9 days ago with the actual diet.

How about things like miso paste in water, vegetable broth, or sipping broths (they look like tea bags but are savory) as “warm” options? If you’re being very hard core, you can strain the miso so it’s without residue.

I also use vanilla protein drinks with decaf coffee as a “creamer.”

You can do this!

I know they have "Sipping Broths" and I bet most of these things at the Bariatric Pal Store. Reasonable prices, great shipping time frame, and all things formulated from our Bariatric Viewpoint. Why enrich Jeff Bezos and his ever- expanding spider of Amazon? And I will tell you, I have been VERY SATISFIED with my BPStore purchases. Planning to redeem some more of the points I have accrued in the Near Future. I get even better delivery time than many things in my Home State(Ohio) and They are in New York!??❤

I doubt Jeff besos would even flinch if Amazon shut down with his $160billion of assets
