  1. I've tried a few different brands. Aldi brand was too weak flavor for me. Another one didn't mix as well My favourite brand is scitec nutrition 100% whey - tastes like milk shake and that's with only water and mixed so easily no left over powder in the cup at all !!!
  2. You gotta walk around as much as you can
  3. After a year of waiting and hoping and studying I'll be one week away exactly tomorrow morning!! Monday 28th is my day. I hope this day comes quickly!! I've had great success already on preop but I think I've stalled the last few days so I'm totally ready for the RNY BYPASS surgery!! I'm now back on shakes liquid diet everyday to help cleanse my body before surgery
  4. exactly agree I did a ton of research before deciding on the RNY bypass. AGAIN for all the metabolic changes from the surgery over just the sleeve or anything else
  5. I think we all suffer from that issue. We can all lose weight just hard to keep it up long term.
  6. Hey guys hope all is well. I'm just getting nervous and anxious about my surgery coming in 10 days time. I would love to hear from people who had surgery in the last month or so. Can you run down exactly what you went through whilst in hospital? How did you feel in the first few days to weeks.. Where you able to drink much water? Did you feel hungry much? Was the pain bearable? And in the first weeks or months are you still feeling restrictions on how much you can eat or drink in one go? I'm just curious how we're meant to get enough protein if unable to drink much liquids? My surgeon says his directions are 2+2+2 for each phase but if you like you can stay on liquids for 3-4weeks shakes etc Sorry if I'm posting a lot ? Mikey
  7. Yep spent a few days on the toilet.lol
  8. Yeah I don't mind a shot of coffee here and there but definitely check about soda
  9. My surgeon didn't have issue with caffeine of oi need a couple black coffees a day
  10. That's No good...my surgeon actually went through his personal planner and we figured out a date together
  11. Hey guys hope everyone is going well I'm officially 11 sleeps away from surgery surgeon filled me in on some final things and I asked a few questions. he said coffee is fine like 2-3 black coffees a day are fine which is good because I don't drink hot coffee but ill put a teaspoon in a shake and it gives me a boost in the mornings before a long day I'm just getting bored waiting counting the days; marking off the calendar! Had a little hunger craving today for the first time in weeks so had some fruit & chicken breast meat was very tasty! I'm lucky my preop diet is just continue with low calories and low carbs and 3 shakes a day which I've been doing for weeks now anyways! I'm just ready to get into the hospital and get the operation over and be relaxing in my private room it will actually be nice to be waited on by the staff for a few days surgeon said he will not make me leave until I'm healthy enough to be on my own as I live alone. I'm just hoping for an easy stress free recovery I love seeing inspirational posts from those who have had the RNY BYPASS already thanks again Mike
  12. Y'all need to revise your plans and get back on track
  13. Remember safety first
  14. Depends on the person some ppl need to up their calories or up their protein or get 8hrs sleep everyday or drink more water...
  15. You're totally normal I'll be in surgery myself in 12days
  16. 40lbs a month is very good ? Keep your protein and water up.
  17. I use shake as a meal in itself best way to get your protein in but everyone is different...
  18. I'm not too worried I was just curious? I think he said main thing is easier recovery.. I'm not complaining I've only got max 80lbs to go
  19. Well 12 days is 10/28 here in Aus. 10am admission. I assume surgery before lunch break so by like 1pm. He said he likes to do bypass first as they are more complex than sleeve
  20. Eat protein first... Otherwise find a hobby. Do a puzzle or go for a walk or study
