I’m one week post op and I’m 59. Does that mean that I’ll get saggy?

I'm 61 going on 62 soon. I don't have a lot of sagging. I think it's because I'm loosing very slowly, I go to the gym and do weights for an hour 2-3 times a week and ride my bike. Maybe that has helped me. I'm sure it will come eventually. 😉

I think you mean dumping is much less likely with the sleeve? Or that you personally haven't had it. Still occurs for some unfortunate folk.

I have never "dumped". Google says: Dumping Syndrome Is Still Possible After Gastric Sleeve But Rarer. It should be noted that dumping syndrome can still happen in gastric sleeve patients, but it is much rarer. The condition tends to be triggered when gastric sleeve patients have foods that are fatty, sugary, or generally rich.

  3. Hello, I'm 61 and had my sleeve surgery a little over a year ago. Everything went really well. I went home the next day. I was never in pain. I'm so happy I had the surgery. I've only lost 45 lbs., I'm not losing as fast as I want but I feel so much better and I'm happier. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

  4. I was sleeved 12/22/2021. Since starting weight I've only lost 45 lbs. I haven't lost weight in 3 months. I get about 800-1000 calories per day, go to the gym and walk every day. I will say even though I haven't lost weight in 3 months, I feel my clothes are fitting better and I'm buying smaller sizes.

I'm a little frustrated as well. I really don't know what the answer is. I just keep doing what I'm supposed to do and hope evidentially I will start loosing again. Good luck to you.

  5. I was sleeved 12/22/2021. I haven't lost in 3 months. I take in about 800-1000 per day and go to the gym. I think it happens to everyone. I need to lose at least 50 more lbs. I think a lot of it is my age as I'm older than most on here. And yes, every one is different. You've done great! 85 lbs. is a lot of weight to lose. Good luck and keep hanging in there.

  6. I had the sleeve done 12/22/2021. I've only lost 42 lbs. However, I'm 61 and I think my age has a lot to do with it. I haven't lost anything for about 2 months. Yes very frustrating. My blood pressure is down and I feel really good. One weird thing is that even though I haven't lost weight in 2 months, my clothes are getting bigger and I've gone down a size. I did start back to my gym, I agree, I think you need to see a dietician. Good luck to you.

  7. Congratulations! I'm 8 months out and have only lost 41 lbs. I'm 61. You are doing great! My doctor cleared me on eating everything at 6 weeks out. It's so weird that so many doctor's have such different aftercare directions. I continue to try and eat about 800-1000 calories a day. I have never "dumped" even after eating sweets. I was losing about 5 lbs per month but I've been on a stall for 2 months now. A little frustrating.

  8. Hey there!! I was also sleeved December 22, 2021. I’ve been loosing very slowly but that’s ok. I’ve lost 41 lbs. about 50 more to go. My blood pressure is a lot lower which makes me happy. My taste buds have changed a little. I didn’t eat much fast food but when I do now I am disappointed in the taste. Don’t care for potato chips anymore or French fries, I know, weird. I’m still trying to adjust my food intake and getting enough Water. I drink a lot of those hydration packets.
I feel so much better and the surgery was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I wished I would have done it years ago.

It was nice hearing from you.

  9. I had the sleeve done 12/2021. I was scare about GERD as well. My doctor said I had a small hernia and I've had GERD for over 30 years. However, it seems that since my surgery I don't have it as bad. I take Nexium once or twice a week and that seems to help me. I also take a good probiotic. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

Would you have used this the first week after surgery ? Do you think it’s worth it When only a few days post op

I would ask the IV store. Mine helped me a lot and suggested I get the big hydration bag. I started the IV 1 or 2 weeks after surgery. I also did acupuncture for healing.

  11. Sleeved on 12/22/2021. I've done several IV's since my surgery. Love them but the place near me is way more expensive than yours and I can't afford to do them as much as I would like. I wish I had one of your places where I live. I always get the "Myers" with add on glutathione. It's your Triple Immunity RX.

Hi there had my surgery on 4/25/2022 kind of regretting it. I wanted to ask the post OP people when were you able to realistically eat food without calculating how many cups and oz's ? Also when did you or were you able to have beer or coffee? I know they say no caffeine but that's definitely not going to happen. I just want to get a realistic stand point and when I try to research it I just see "I am not supposed to eat that".. duh I know but idc.

I had my surgery Dec. 22, 2021. I eat and drink anything I want and I love it. I just eat and drink small amounts. I've always been, (for the most part) a healthy eater. I don't eat a lot of junk food or sodas. I do drink coffee and wine but a lot less than I used to. I'm so happy I got this surgery. I just wish I would have done it a long time ago. Good luck to you.

Hi, I am scheduled for my surgery on Wednesday and I am getting scared. I just read that someone is still hungry after all of this. Will I never get to enjoy food again? Or their stomach keeps bothering them. Sorry..just freaking out a little bit.

I had my surgery in December 2021. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I do feel hungry about every 4 hours. I eat what I want, just a lot less of it. I feel content and I'm never starving myself anymore. When we go out to dinner, I order what I want and take most of it home with me. It only took me about 1-2 month after surgery to eat normal foods or mostly normal, (not liquid). I feel very fortunate to have gone through this and better myself. Good luck at whatever you chose.
