  1. Congratulations! Welcome to the Losers Bench!
  2. I agree with other posters. Walk walk walk! I was fortunate to not have any pain after surgery. I walked every hour and a half. Up and down the hallways more times than i could count LOL.. Drink or rather SIP very slow and constantly post surgery. I had most of my liquid in by day 3 and by 5pm. I was non stop sipping all day long no matter where i was or what i was doing.
  3. I was self pay, but i would be calling to schedule myself LOL..
  4. That is awesome! Great Job! Keep up the great work!
  5. I totally agree! I did not even realize the shoe thing till i finished tying my second shoe lol
  6. LOL.. Thanks Mouse! It must be a 3 month thing.. i am up 2 since Sunday.. I am dying over here LOLOL..
  7. I have two NSV's this week I am super excited about! 1. My boss gave me a few of her pairs of jeans about a month ago.. and they barely hit the sides of my hips. I was able to put them on comfortably on Sunday!!! YAY!! I was so excited. 2. This morning, i went to tie my sneakers and i didn't realize till i was almost done that my leg was not up on the bed sideways so i could tie the shoe but crossed over my leg sitting up!!.. I thought i was dreaming when i realized it. What are your NSV's this week?
  8. the best thing i could do for me, which was recommended by my surgeon.. is drink the lower g of protein shakes, so you can have 5 or 6 a day MAX... if you drink the 30g ones, you limit yourself and then can be hungry. My typical day started with Water, then Coffee.. then protein shake, then i had chicken broth for lunch and and followed with protein shake.. water..etc.. and broth for dinner. I tried to maintain a normalcy throughout so it didnt drive me crazy. But i will say being allowed 5 or 6 protein shakes a day was the best thing i did along with the broths for lunch and dinner. I was never hungry and there were days i didnt get to the 5 or 6.
  9. I cant answer for the RNY but with the sleeve, there is for sure restriction. And man when you overdo it. it is noticeable on my face lol. I dont even have to say i ate too fast or too much.. It shows.. I am learning each day to slow down and wait more and more because for sure for sure... Its a mess to deal with afterwards!
  10. I would love to find one too. Have either of you tried going to support groups in your local towns? Online is great, but in person helps a great deal too!
  11. track your food but soda is definately not good for your new tool.
  12. maybe it is that time of month?? I will be 3 months out this coming Friday and i am dying to hit my next goal. 3.2 pounds to get there this week.. i have my work cut out for me!
  13. be careful with baby food. Yes it is puree but some of it has way too many sugars to tolerate.
  14. Orlando Area! I went with Dr. Shillingford..I have not had any complications thus far!
  15. I am so speechless at this picture. My work had an event at a Disney Hotel on Saturday night! When i saw this PIC.. I look totally like a different person.. Besides being dressed up LOL! The first one is me before surgery, and the second is Sat night! My first post op pic share!
  16. Things do get better, but being realistic you are constantly watching what you eat and how much you eat.. How you chew and timing between bites. This is a lifelong journey! All i can say is try to get the positive out of what you are putting into it. I am making this into a challenge. ( I know right, its a challenge in itself) but I am preparing, changing, creating new things to eat, try.. etc so i dont have the same thing all the time and feel deflated. Also try a local support group if you dont have one.. Its good to be around others that have had the same thing as you so you can brainstorm and that sort of thing. I hope it gets better for you soon.
  17. That is amazing! Congratulations! I look forward to getting to goal hopefully by the end of the year.
  18. So you are limited to less than 500 calories per day until you hit goal? I may have read that incorrectly,
  19. I like to listen to some of his videos but will always listen to my team in the end. although he has some really good points.
  20. As the days go on, it will get easier! As it gets easier you will be able to have other foods to as time passes.
  21. do not take much. Everything i took stayed in the bag until I left. You will be tired and only want to sleep. I actually used my pajamas and my cell charger. That was it.. they give you socks for your feet so you dont fall.. and any meds you need, they will have for you.
