  1. i just made my shake tonight with milk instead of water.. STOP THE PRESSES!!! i am in heaven! LOL
  2. at week 4 i was on puree.. We had to do liquids for 2 weeks first.
  3. Probably the culprit.. Just limit your can food and resturant food.. there is so many hidden carbs and stuff in food.
  4. Thoughts on any of the Inspire products? I know this is Bariatric Pal and they have their own store.. I was just looking for an Eggnog Protein Powder LOL.. but not sure between the two sites. I do not have enough information about either one or the other. I know there are many different brands and i really dont want to go all out buying something i may not like.. If this post isnt allowed please delete.. I am not promoting one brand over the other.. just trying to do a little research LOL THanks
  5. Check on Facebook for clothing swaps for bariatric patients.
  6. I have not had the issue, but take a look at the soup you are eating.. Is it soup you made or from the can? If the answer is from the can.. they are loaded with sodium which will not only cause you to be thirsty, but it will also cause you to retain water, and depending on salt content will consume some of your water intake as it is a dehydrator.. Be careful with stuff from the can orpremade foods..
  7. I go do dance class ( ballroom dancing) for my cardio, and i just started going to the gym last week as i wasnt cleared for the gym until Jan 9th from my doctor. I have been doing weight training on the machines a few days a week.. i do not have an official program.. I figured if i get my cardio from the dance classes and weight training at the gym it should be good. If i feel i do not get enough cardio at class ( due to technique training) i can also get in cardio at the gym. I did a zumba class on saturday.. Kicked my butt LOL
  8. I lost 19.5 pounds before my surgery date. I had surgery at 284.2.. The school i go to is Arthur Murray. I do think they have Arthur Murray in London.. I also think they are worldwide but i can be wrong. My son is a teacher for them in a different dance studio. It was at the last competition in September that i decided to do the surgery so i could participate in the competition this year. I am super excited to be in the competition and way excited to hopefully be close to goal or somewhere under 200 by the time the competition comes about. I will for sure post a pic once i get my dresses. I am waiting to order until July or August because I do not know how much i will lose by then.
  9. Thank you will do that! I do eat every time before dance class now and i look at my instructor and say.. Dont spin me!! He has had to catch me a few times, but good advice. From now on i will eat after class but make sure i have enough liquid to get me through the class. I was eating before because my doctor said to make sure i have enough food in my stomach to make it through the class and didnt pass out halfway through. So i made it a point to eat right before class each time and maybe it is not such a good idea.. especially since i am now training for competitions in the fall and he needs to be able to spin me!
  10. Why would it not be effective?
  11. That is a great Idea! I have never thought of that! I always try to eat protein each meal first as directed, but honestly i dont track if i am going over.. I just assume i am making it because i dont consume barely anything! That is my biggest struggle.. tracking. I do like using any of the apps. I find it time consuming. I bought a planner and use that, but i never plug anything into anything to get the macros!... This is something i need to change immediately. I bet i am getting too much protein and this is also part of my lack of BM issue. I bet if i correct the amount of protein and eat the requirement only.. then eat veggies at the next meal or something.. then i can make it work. Right now i am only eating 3 meals a day.. Maybe i can do 6.. and do protein one, veggies the 2nd.. then 3rd protein, 4th veggies.. etc.. break my meals up into 6 times a day and get both veggies and protein in!!! Thank you so much for your input! PS.. I made banana pancakes to eat this week for breakfast to see if it would help with the BM issue.. but not happy with carb content in each cake LOL
  12. I was the same.. although 5 3. I started with a BMI of 52. I am now in month 3. (will be 3 months on Feb 8th) and i have had absolutely no issues since surgery unless you count my TOM deciding to show up late and not yet this month LOL.. Other than that.. I have had no pains, no issues eating.. although chicken i find a little troublesome.. But i am very happy with my decision and am glad i had it done. Only wish i was able to do it sooner. I had surgery on Thursday and was back in the office on Monday. ( even worked from the hospital on Friday lol). I love my tool and treat it with care each and every day. I look forward to the day i fit into the size 16 dress i just bought the other day because it is gorgeous!!!! And to the day i enter the ballroom competition in September!
  13. you will have people on both ends of the spectrum. It can depend on how your body is processing the foods or liquids you are intaking. I have never had diarrhea, i on the contrary am the total opposite and have been for a while now. this week is my last test phase before i make a change in my supplements so i can fix the issue.. This once a week.. 2 hour bathroom visit is not working for me. Good Luck!
  14. I have never had fairlife but would be interested. I make all my shakes with water. I wonder if i should start making them with milk to get in more protein, but then i have heard your body cannot process more than 30g at a time and if my shake is 25.. not sure if adding the milk is beneficial.
  15. Good Luck! My goal is to ultimately be at 135 but that is my goal, not my doctors goal. He has not given me a goal yet.. I may ask him at my next visit on the 22nd of Feb.
  16. its released in one of two ways LOL.. from above or below!!!.. i was lucky and it came out from above.. but man there was a burp with every sip. I did not have the pains, just the gas. I think it took almost 2 weeks to be completely gone.
  17. Thank you for the reminder. I struggle on the weekends because i never stay at home. It is so much easier during the week when i have a schedule throughout the whole day. I need to get this weekend thing figured out. I drink but i do not think often enough. Its 639pm right now and i can honestly say.. I dont think i have had 20 ounces today... I got up, struggled with BM so that was my first concern. Then i made banana pancakes and ate since it was late by the time i resolved the BM issue.. Then my adult children decided they wanted to go to Animal Kingdom today. I made a 20 ounce bottle of water, and maybe drank 3 ounces.. and i did have half a decaf coffee, but my brain said you put too much light cream in this.. so i threw it out after i was done with half of the 16 ounce cup..It was too cold outside today so i did not want to drink cold water while outside.. We went to lunch inside the park and i did my 30 min wait before and after, and then i had a milk.. 8 ounces.. i am not working on a 20 ounce protein shake, but i just started.. oh and i had a sf popcicle.. so if i add it up... hahaha i might be at 28 including the protein shake i am working on.. so i was close, but that means.. i have to finish this to get another 20 ounces in and still need to make dinner.. It is going to be a long night!
  18. Like GreenTea stated its best to read the boards. Everybody is different! You dont want limited answers in your threads because that will end up swaying your perception of the surgery. There are things that can happen to everybody and some things happen to some and not others.. so its best to get as much knowledge as you can so you can be prepared and informed.
  19. stalls can happen at any time. I would also think about what you are eating the day before.. did you have a lot of salt or any salt? Sometimes soups, salt, seasonings , in the food can retain water because of the salt in it. Try drinking more water or using seasonings that are salt free like Mrs. Dash.
  20. i am only on month 2 since surgery. My period before surgery was the night before and during the hospital stay.. ( November) in December it showed up 10 days late.. but then my cycle was normal. In Jan.. now.. LOL I am not at 3 days late from the 10 days late.. LOL.. So i am sitting and waiting to see when this sucker is going to decide to show up this month.
  21. i am 9 weeks out and just eat because i have to. I am trying a variety of things so i am not bored, but really want some veggies. I cannot get past the protein in each meal before i am full so i am never making it to the veggies.. I need to come up with an alternative plan, especially now that i am going to the gym.
  22. i started that way but am now under
  23. That is exactly your culprit. I was told no rice, pasta or bread for a year. The potatoes i was given clearance on but only if i was still hungry and only a small portion. ( like a small piece of a baked, or boiled) I had to eat veggies before the potato. I think the rice and potato together are too much. Swap those out for green beans or some other non starchy veggie.. Keep us posted, you can do this and you got this girl!
  24. Start a Journal! Although I have been lax about it lately as i have been really busy. For weeks before my surgery up to about a month after i wrote everything in a journal. It helped me express my feelings, worries and successes through each day both pre op and post op. I also have a weight loss thermometer next to my desk on the wall, where every Monday i come to work and update it from the week before.. ( in different pretty colors LOL). It has really helped me see where i was to where i am going. ALso the before and after pics are great idea!
  25. I Myself have no idea what it is but i wish you a smooth journey! If your doctor asked you to stop it for 2 weeks, it could be because it will interfere with the surgery but again, I have no idea what it is for.. I hope all goes well.
