  1. So, my gym ONLY had him as a trainer. He still works - but only in mornings. They are supposedly hiring two more at some point. But, I am having my skin removal surgery in November which will put me out of commission for a minimum of 8 weeks, and they require a 3 month commitment contract so I don't have time between when the new hires get on and my surgery to sign a 3 month contract. So, at this point, I am going to wait until February and by then my trainer SHOULD be back with an evening schedule. I am actually off work this coming Monday and managed to get in a morning appointment with him. I am going to whine a lot about his abandonment. lolol.
  2. So they are leaving the tumor in there? I am confused. Can't it still spread? Could they have called in an emergency surgeon while you were under and removed it?
  3. If you find the secret, let me know... because I get Torrid magazines every other day.
  4. Use this time to enjoy some food funerals. Say goodbye with glee to your favorite junk. Probably terrible advice but hey, that's how I roll. lmao.
  5. Well, you already said you're having skin surgery so .... hopefully that will provide the confidence boost. The main reason I am having a tummy tuck is because of the FUPA (fatty upper pubic area). I hate it. You can see it bulge in my pants like I have dude parts. lol. Yeah, the tummy needs work, too, but I can mostly hide that except for the FUPA. I am excited to have that chop-chopped. You are not alone.
  6. So, most of you have read that I wasn't always heavy. I didn't gain weight until 10 years ago when I was 20. When I was a healthy weight, 140, my doctors would constantly tell me I was "bordering" on overweight and "at-risk". My family member who told me I was chubby since I was age 8 continued on berating me for my size. I was a completely healthy size my whole childhood and teenage years. Anyways, I developed body dysmorphia and truly believed I was gigantic. So, I gave up and ate. And ate. Until I actually was large. And then no one cared. That family member stopped making comments. Not a single doctor commented on my size. No doctor ever brought up any risks from obesity. It all stopped. It was like I had so much pressure when I was thin to stay thin, but then when I was fat I was a lost cause and no one cared anymore. But I look at my picture from the day before my surgery and it actually disgusts me. I am clearly uncomfortable. I am miserable in my skin. I do not look attractive or happy. But no one said a word. I find this to be really infuriating because when I was heavy I needed the encouragement the most and the discussions with the doctors... NOT when I was actually healthy and fit and "1 pound away from being considered overweight on the BMI". I sometimes feel really angry that all the people around me saw me looking how I did and didn't say a word of concern. When I expressed my discomfort of being heavy to my ex he just said "screw it. let's just get fat together, who cares". I wish people "cared" when I was actually gaining weight as much as they "cared" when I was fit. I probably wouldn't have had such severe emotional eating issues, although probably still some dysmorphia from the childhood comments from the family member. Everytime I do a before and after photo now I am just appalled because I am *almost* the weight now when everyone was telling me I was fat. But when I was ACTUALLY fat no one said a word. But suddenly now I look great? Um. 10 years ago you were calling me fat at this size. TLDR; I look at my "fat" pic and feel so gross and angry that no one cared that I was fat that should have cared, except me.
  7. I *can* eat a lot more now - but I stick to timed meals (i.e. scheduled times I will eat throughout the day) and I portion everything out that isn't already pre-portioned. I eat straight out of the measuring cup sometimes. Yes, I am occasionally still hungry between those meals, but that routine is key to my long-term success. I try to make everything I eat a high protein item so it staves off any hunger and, again, portion it out before sitting down to eat so I don't overeat.
  8. I would be scared to have residents do it, even if they were supervised. Those prices you got are crazyyyy. I thought mine were high! 6K for arm lift, 8k for tummy tuck. And then 5k for facility and anesthesia fees.
  9. I get sick from meat, but still eat it sometimes. BUT, my primary source of protein is cottage cheese. 21g per cup, baby.
  10. My bariatric surgeon said that the patches are completely ineffective and to never use them - that the vitamins aren't absorbed properly (at insufficient levels, like this states). Maybe a large warning and link to the study?
  11. OMGGGG. I called the SurgiCenter to get the actual cost (the one on the plastic surgeon's form was an estimate) and she put in the wrong CPT code and originally said the facility charge was TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I almost had a heart attack.
  12. whey protein, cream-based soup, anything with flour in it, the majority of meat, including ground beef, fish, meatballs, sometimes chicken, sometimes steak. i haven't tried anything on my "no" list or my "you should probably be able to eat this now" list, because my stomach is so sensitive. i get very very hot/flushed and nauseous and a little dizzy and sometimes vomit. melted cheese (like in french onion soup) also gets a "stuck" feeling. i didn't know sleeve patients get dumping? TIL. my friend with sleeve can eat anything without consequence (except rebound weight gain, of course).
  13. I'm too scared and asked my mommy to take off work to go with me. LOL. Even if I can drive, I feel like I will be nauseous just thinking about what just occurred.

second dress ive worn in.... my life. sorry for the darkness. also, the infamous MOUSE CAT also checking himself out.
  17. I AM HAVING SKIN REMOVAL FROM MY SIDE BOOB ON SEPT 6TH. ahhhhhhhhhhhh!! under local anesthetic. and they said i can drive myself. i am going to hurl.
  18. Maybe talk to an OBGYN specifically? Lots of options out there. I love my Mirena - no period since 2014, baby! lol.
  19. 8AM - Peach light and fit greek yogurt 10AM - Chomps Italiano Beef Stick 12PM: Leftover spinach salad with a small bit of chicken, roasted red pepper, pepperjack cheese, and sriracha ranch I'm feeling a bit off today (a little queasy, thanks likely to the MOM I took last night), so probably won't have anything again until after the gym tonight. I do usually have a 2 or 3PM snack and then dinner after the gym.
  20. feeling a little antsy. a coworker's friend had a tummy tuck 11 days ago (also a bypass patient) and she was in the hospital for THREE DAYS because she was unable to stand up from the muscles feeling so tight. she is still on heavy pain meds. on the other hand, a friend of mine from law school had it done over spring break and was back perky and chipper at school 7 days later. i am more nervous about the brachioplasty pain. just goes to show how everyone heals so differently. mine's scheduled outpatient.
  21. WHAT?! My doctor told me to start using TWO forms of birth control for the first year after surgery to prevent pregnancy. I have an IUD - Mirena. I also never get laid so that isn't an issue. LOL. But, there are non-latex condoms (I am allergic to latex condoms) and non-hormonal copper IUDs. I've never heard of a doc saying that?? You definitely don't want to get pregnant within the first year!!
  22. I was an emotional wreck after surgery. I was very depressed and cried all the time for NO REASON. I wasn't angry, but I have no history of depression and was in a deep pit. It lasted for about a month before I started leveling out. I also saw my psychiatrist who I get anxiety medication from and she adjusted some things. I would suggest contacting a psychiatrist that can help you out for a while. In theory, it should all level out... lots of hormonal changes right now. I don't recall being told about the emotional changes, either, but when I called they said it was normal and should level out.
  23. I have donated 6 40 gallon trashbags of clothes to the women's shelter in my area. I have several more bags to go. I don't even think they want anymore clothes! lol! I do kinda wish I had one pair of my Size 24 pants so I can stand in one leg of them for a photo op.
  24. I had a 6 hour long plastic surgery procedure in 2009 and a 3 hour long plastic surgery procedure in 2017 and did not lose hair from either one.
  25. They are really tasty! lol. Just made me sick, personally. You'll probably love them. There's other proteins.... like pea (blarrrfff) and soy. RedCon1 makes MRELite shakes, which are made of salmon, beef, and turkey. Somehow. Just not nearly as many products available.
