I have been clean and sober 7 years. I am active in aa and my home group is actually an online group. So for any women that has drinking our drug issues and need advice or want to talk, message me. I'll give you my number and we can talk. Men too, I can help guide you to a feeling make in this area. I always say I'm a "true addict". I take anything and make it unhealthy; cutting, sex, drugs, alcohol, and especially food.
I'm not trying to make my message a public service announcement, but I want those struggling with other unhealthy coping mechanisms to know that they're not alone.

JessLess reacted to I AM NOT MY SIZE in I know my message is long, but please read it. I need help!!
Hey guys, my one year was September 19. I went to my surgeon for a check in yesterday, I have gained 11 pounds. I am so disgusted I don't know what to do. He was so ugly to me and non caring. He told me I failed and there was nothing he would do for me. Then he told me maybe I should try Medifast...REALLY!!! I should have followed my first mind and not use him. I told him from the beginning my sleeve wasn't stopping me from eating and if it weren't for the scars I have, I wouldn't think I had weight loss surgery. I asked him did he remove 75% of my stomach, he didn't give a yes or no answer, instead he said the lady I just saw have the same size sleeve you have and she's lost 80 pounds, talk about adding insult to injury! Then he told me he didn't have to see me anymore. How often do you guys that are one year out or more see your surgeon? Is it suppose to be an ongoing thing or just as needed? I'm gonna request an endoscopy be done, I honestly don't think he sleeved me right. I feel so hopeless and like a failure as he said. Since my surgery I only lost 34 pounds and have gained back 11 pounds. My hunger never went away like most people does after surgery. Something is wrong! Should I request the endoscopy through him or my regular doctor? I'm thinking through my regular doctor. Please help me. I need advice.

My VGS was Mon. I spent two nights in the hospital. My doctor tried it through my navel (my request) but told me it was hard at my BMI. I have another small incision. The pain has been the worst but I'm doing well getting all the Water in and some of the liquid meals. I've been moving a lot inside but going out in the freezing weather seems daunting.

Well, I'm a total n00b with my surgery tomorrow and all I have to rant about is now I know why they call it a GAStric sleeve.

Same!! I hate those....omg i didn’t lose 30 pounds in 3 weeks posts. Like i don’t want to insult anyone but i can’t help but laugh.
I also hate those “oh i eat slider foods all day, why am i not losing weight posts”
Lastly i also hate those posts from people who obsess over every little thing instead of just enjoy the process. Like relax already, take a xanax or something.😂

Soo ... I actually had bread and alcohol, and so much other stuff at 3 weeks out. BUT, I knew this was not wise. I didn't come here asking if it was a good idea, I knew it wasn't. And I took full responsibility for the gain I had that week, and if I had had any other complications for it. I think it comes down to accepting personal responsibility.

Ugh. This. My least favorite is becoming I had surgery two weeks ago and I haven’t lost fifty pounds! What’s the matter with me!
I guess I just felt so cruddy the first few weeks post op it didn’t even cross my mind to weigh myself and worry about it so soon.

JessLess reacted to Ed_NW in Struggling to get cleared by doctor for sleeve surgery
You need to be tracked by a dietitian specializing in diabetes. You probably already know, but low carb high Protein diets are considered the diabetic diet. That's also the diet you will be on post surgery pretty much. I have diabetics in my family and it's real easy to just give up. We just lost somebody that took that attitude. I'm sure you have people that will be affected if you die from this. Take it seriously and stick to a diet specific to your condition. If you have to bring your blood sugar up, eat the minimum amount of fruit to bring it up then get back on the low carb/high protein diet given to you by your new dietitian you are going to find. You can do it man!!

JessLess reacted to Mhy12784 in what kind of questions did you get asked during your psyc appointment
The woman who did my psych interview was a lunatic, I seriously thought she was drunk or on drugs (im not kidding or exaggerating)
She asked me questions like where did my cardiologist go to medical school, and several times asked me what my name was again.

Yes, you are right and I was feeling so good it wasn’t even a concern but we are still so fragile a week and a half out. And with my surgeon recommending walks and elliptical. I think the issue is that I was going faster than I would have if walking outside at this point. But 2.7mph is normally very slow for me. I have been on the go the last few days as well so it may be a combo of things. -

Spent some time with my aunt and sister today and they were SO judgmental. Kept saying having this surgery is cheating and that I’ve only lost Water weight (30 lbs of water weight??) and that they only respect people who lose weight the “hard” way. I got so mad I almost walked out. Like this isn’t hard??? Ugh. Rant over.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm telling people I had a medical procedure and also went on a medically restricted diet at first to explain having little containers of Protein Shake and such at my office. Later I will just tell people I'm eating less and exercising. All true, pretty much! I also like to ask people questions back, like "Why do you ask?"

My dad is one of the top researchers on nausea. If your doctor says it's OK I would take capsules of ginger, like 4 250 mg capsules a day. This really works for a lot of people.
