failure
I agree with what has already been suggested, go see your Doc. I finally got off my hind end and went. I feel MUCH better about it now. (And I wish I could say I lost more than 20lbs, much less 30.) As far as exercise goes, I still do not go to the gym. I know people there stare at the fit good looking people, but I am too self-conscious. I went and bought a Wii fit. I LOVE IT. The exercises are fun and it keeps track of your weight for you. I also got the Jillian Michaels workout "game" for the Wii and it is a good butt kicker for me. I actually enjoy exercising with those two things for the Wii. No matter what you do, GO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! You will be glad you did. Lord knows I am. I had a fill and am back on track. (13lbs since last Tuesday!!!!)

Workouts at Home
I need some serious help. Since my husband has been laid off from his job we have NO funds for me to join a gym, much less buy any kind of exercise equipment. That being said... 1) How do you motivate yourself to work out at home? At least in the gym I let myself start out getting motivated by not wanting to look ike the fat loser who couldn't do more than 15 minutes on the treadmill. (Hey, it worked wen I first started, then I stopped caring about what others thought because I was there for ME.) 2) What kind of exercise do you do? I just found the couch to 5k website and plan on starting that on Monday. If I have to I could probably budget $10 or $15 on a set of small handweights, but not much more than that at all. Thanks for your help! I really need to get myself going with the weightloss again. Just posting here will help me get a little motivated. I just need some ideas other than jumping jacks and push ups.

Banded & Hoping to get Preg - join in!
Sending baby dust your way! Did you use your first morning urine? If not that CAN cause it to read negative this early. GOOD LUCK and let us know!

Banded & Hoping to get Preg - join in!
Your family all lives in Egypt compared to where I do. (I'm out in Marana near Cortaro and I-10. lol) I have to agree with the NO STRESSING!!! I'm all Veruca Salt about that too, but it's good advice. It took us a lttle over 8 years to get Jack- who was also my ninth preg. (UGH!!!!) It was when we finally gave up and decided we'd enjoy our lives and travel for a year or two THEN adopt when it finally happened one, uh, VERY good Halloween. HA HA HA. (As the joke goes....we were both pirates that year and my husband told me "Shiver me timber." ROFLMAO)

Can I get an Amen?
Amen! BTW...Brian has explained himself a little better. HA!

Banded & Hoping to get Preg - join in!
I'll be there with you in another month or so. My Dr gave me permission to start a little early too, but wants me to wait six months, so I'm looking at Oct/Nov to start TTC. However, I'd sure love to join in with y'all now. (Between infertility issues and my age, I got the go ahead to start early.)

Lap Band surgery set for Wed., May 14!!!!!
I'm doing so-so. The weight isn't coming off in the numbers like I would have hoped, but all my pants are WAY too big now. lol. Go figure huh? Oh, and of course, DAMMIT, all my bras are too big too. WHY WHY WHY?

Anyone have pregnancy symptoms but not pregnant?
Yes ma'am. After my first period I would have sworn up one side and down the other that I was pregnant. Even spent a LOT of perfectly good $$$ on several of the digital tests to make sure I wasn't pregnant. UGH!

Lifting a baby post-op
You already have some great answers. I just want to say that this place now scares me. We want to have ONE more baby in time and with all the multiples on this board....EEEEEEK! I won't be drinking the water here! rofl

How many calories are you eating?
I don't think I'm getting in enough calories. Of course, I hate to admit but I am not good about eating. I pretty well live off of one whole egg a day and cottage cheese out the ying yang. (It's been WAAAAAAY over 100 here lately and I cannot fathom turning on the stove for ANYTHING.) I noticed since I started eating like this my weightloss has stalled out big time. UGH.

Exersice Band Wagon
If you're doing weight lifting it *could* be that. I do the same thing when I add weights in because muscle weighs more than fat does. In fact, when I start adding weights back in to my workouts I will pretty well ignore my scale for a while and go with measurements or by how my clothes fit me. When I was in college I went on a BIG workout kick so I could lose 50lbs. The first two months I GAINED ten pounds. I was ready to quit until I realized that I had to either get smaller clothes or a lot of belts. lol. Trust me, I bet you're losing inches in there.

RNY - lapband...which way to go???
I can tell you why I chose the Band. 1) Watched my mother go through the bypass TWICE and do horribly both times. Why bother with that? 2) Had to hold a close friend's hand after her sister DIED from having the bypass. NO THANK YOU!!! A surgeon may have zero mortalities from it, but there's a first time for everything. Plus, ask closer questions and find out if that zero number comes from while they're still in the hospital or if it includes all complications afterwards.

Exersice Band Wagon
I would LOVE to start walking again, but June in Tucson means getting up before the sun does at 5am or staying inside. I've been working out to this one show I found on Fit TV called Shimmy that's belly dancing. I LOVE it!!! I do it three times a day so I end up with about a little over an hour of exercise everyday. I also get in my pool every other day and do a little "jogging" in there at night but I find I can only last about 10 minutes or so before the big incision site starts hurting.

Sore Spot
OH YEAH. It about killed me the first week or so. Now it ONCE in a while feels like a stitch in my side like one gets when they run. It's mild though- just more of an annoyance than anything else. (I was banded a month ago.)

Optifast instead of Lap Band?
Because any surgeon I have ever heard of won't give you ANY kind of weight loss surgery if you're already at or near goal weight. You have to be at LEAST in the obese catagory with your BMI, not just a documented weight problem.

Liquid Protein Drinks.. UK, Europe and US
OK, I just went and did the conversion for $245 Euros. HOLY CRAP!!!!! For only 18 servings??? I fed the three of us here in Arizona for three WEEKS off of that much money. OUCH. I buy my Protein shakes at Walmart. They're less than ten dollars for the package (EAS Advantage) and have 20g of protein in them per scoop. They're not the greatest things in the world, but then again I still have yet to find one that I go "WOW!" over.

One Month Anniversary Today & New Obsession - Watching Cook Shows
Hi, my name is Kristey and I am a Food Network addict. lol. I watch off the Good Eats myself, plus Paula Deen to get my Southern Cooking fix and I DVR Ellie Krieger's show called Healthy Appetite. She has some GREAT tasting healthy recipes.

Optifast instead of Lap Band?
To be brutally honest...If you're like 99.9% of the rest of us you will kick BUTT at losing weight while you stick with it. However, as SOON as you go off you'll gain the weight back and then some. Trust me, BTDT with Slim Fast. Not quite the same thing, but close. Heck, I've BTDT with EVERY diet I ever went on.

June 2008 for me!!!

I want some REAL food!?!?!?!?!
That's a shame you're deciding against it. It is your decision of course, but all in all it's not THAT BAD. I haven't had food since the 12th, and it does indeed suc, but I look at the fact that I am now well on my way to a new body and life that it's worth it. As for everyone else...I am going INSANE!!! I get to start on an egg a day tomorrow and I am SO EXCITED!!! YAY!!! Next Tuesday I get to start my mushies. WOOT! Let's just hope that the Tobasco I plan on slathering my egg with doesn't upset my new tummy. lol

11 Days Post-op and Hungry!!!

Looking for Suahaurita - Corona Bandsters
Sorry!!! I'm out on the NW side of town in Marana/Continental Ranch. I can tell you that there is a bandster support meeting that I just found that meets once a month. They said the next one will be on the far east side of town around noon or 1pm. As soon as I get the details emailed to me I'll post it here. Congrats on your approval!!!!
