    Non Scale Victories

Fit into my wedding dress!!!! (which I blindly ordered 3 sizes smaller than what I was measuring 6 months ago!) 😁

    Non Scale Victories

That’s so funny, I just got my ring resized. I haven’t worn it in 2 months because as I was trying on my wedding dress, it fell right off, and I was terrified. I was holding off on resizing until I was done losing weight...but I kinda should wear it on my wedding day lol $180 later to make it smaller 😩

    One month stall

Well broke the stall...by eating like crap for 2 days, go figure... Maybe I need to up my calorie intake?

    One month stall

Thanks all! I feel like a stall queen as well. My patten has been 2 weeks of no scale movement then a week and a half of a quick drop. So a month is a long time for me. And that’s kinda interesting, I am at a weight that I spent a lot of time at.

    One month stall

I know there are hundreds of posts about stalls... However, mine is now really bothering me. I have been stalled, bouncing between the same 3 lbs for a month now. I’m only 4 1/2 months post op. I have been getting my 60+ grams of protein, I’ve been getting my 70 oz of water, if I eat a carb it because I have a little room left and it’s a healthy carb. I’m exercising 2-3 times a week cardio and doing weights every day at home. I take my vitamins. I am beyond frustrated and want to cry. I was on a great steady pace the first 3 months, averaging 10 lbs a month. Everyone keeps saying take advantage of this first 6-12 months...it’s hard to stay positive when you feel like you’ve lost one of those months. Any help would be so appreciated.

    Non Scale Victories

Since I’m in a stall at the moment, I’m going to celebrate a nsv from this weekend! I was able to buy “normal” size clothes for the first time in I don’t know how long. I went on an Old Navy shopping spree fitting in to XL and XXL tops! 4 months ago I was wearing 2x and 3x!
  7. I was having the same issue with being nauseous a few weeks back. Nothing seemed to help, not meds, not cutting dairy, not drinking more water. Turns out, after a meeting with my nutritionist, it’s my new signal that I’m hungry...great.

    Sick and thirsty and regretting

I only just started to feel better in the last few weeks myself. I found weeks 3-6 to be the absolute hardest. I was tired, miserable, wanted to chug a glass of water, wanted to eat like a normal person, felt nauseous all the time... Same responses of “oh it gets better hang in there”. And it does, 3 months post op and I feel so much better. But when you are in those first few weeks, it sucks. And a week feels like forever. I counted the days when I could start the next phase of my diet. You don’t realize how much your life revolves around food. It sounds crazy, but I totally went through a phase in those weeks where I’d walk the grocery store hunting down anything I could eat for the week (and bought way more food than I could ever eat) because so much of it is mental. It’s so much to handle all at once, but you learn. When I was in weeks 3-6 it seemed like an eternity. 3 months out, it seems like an eternity ago.

    Dating

Met my fiancé online pre surgery. Everyone asks what site, my reply is they all suck, I got lucky lol Have to go through a lot of crap to get to the good stuff, but as long as your prepared for it, it’s fine! Just have fun :)
  10. Went to the BIg E fair yesterday, made sure I got my protein and water in for the day. But totally had some poutine, and a cup of clam chowder...and a few sips of the fiancés margarita. No regrets. I could have done way worse than a few cheese curds gravy and a few fries.

    Returned to work too soon?

J San it is my surgeon who was giving me a hard time funny enough.

    Returned to work too soon?

Thanks everyone for the support. I got in with my PCP this afternoon, and I’m hoping she will hear me out and help me focus on my health instead of work!
  13. Hey everyone, I’ve been kind of a lurker until now... So I am 6 weeks post op, I returned to work 3 weeks ago at the start of the school year. I am a k-8 library teacher, on my feet all day, teaching all day, moving books and bins all day. By 1:00 I’m so sore I am starting to hunch over and get nauseous. I’m finding it very difficult to sip water all day...it’s hard to sip and teach at the same time. Did I go back too soon? I’m having a really hard time taking care of myself while trying to do my job well. I feel like such a wimp. On top of it, my doctors office is being really reluctant to give me a note in case I need a day or two off. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    CO-Workers knowing you business

I’ve been very open about my process and journey with wls. My coworkers have been so supportive and inquisitive. I’ve been called words like brave, and strong, and beautiful. It’s so easy to want to keep your life private. But Don’t be afraid to be open. I have found a lot of my motivation through my coworkers.
  15. I made the most terrifying purchase of my life, having to guess my size for my wedding dress that I will be wearing 7 months from now! I also bought some clearance summer clothes a size or 2 down for April for our honeymoon since I won’t be able to find summer clothes at that time in the northeast US. Crossing my fingers and trying not to stress!
