    40 something sleevers?

I’m 45 and got sleeves on 8/2. I’m glad I did it now. My kids are grown and out of the house so I can plan meals for me without worrying about their nutrition needs. I also think I appreciate it more now as a lifestyle change.

    Actual time off work

Update to my previous post: I went back to work on Monday 8/20 and am struggling with pain. While I have a desk job, sitting up and leaning forward to work on the computer scrunches up my abdomen and causes some pain. I’ve cut back to working half days in the office and half days at home in a more comfortable, stretched out, position. I also get exhausted quickly and love a quick nap when I’m done working. I thought I was ready but not quite yet.

    Puree

I was 2 weeks post op on 8/16 and I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks then on to puréed food for 2 weeks. My first “meal” was a scrambled egg. Since then I’ve had puréed cooked carrots, mashed potatoes and turkey meatloaf plus some soft cheese (Babybel or Laughing Cow). My boyfriend even made ribs last night and I puréed them. Probably not the best choice because of the fat. I move to soft solids in 2 weeks then mechanical solids for 2 weeks then all food at the 60 day mark.

    Actual time off work

I had my sleeve done on 8/2. I took off through 8/10 and worked from home through 8/17. I’m going to try to go into the office on 8/20. I am in IT so no lifting or walking. I get tired when getting ready to go out and grocery shopping or walking for 30 minutes. My boss is great and said that if I can only make it half days for the next week it’s okay. My brain says go, go, go but my body says no, no, no. Good luck!
