Well hello, this is my first post. I have been watching this group chat for months, but haven't wanted to say anything. It sounds like lots of people have a real slow go of it when they get their first fill. Do you feel like you are starving? I am very nervous about starving until I get filled. My date is set for April 28th. I know no-one in my entire town who knows anyone who has had the band. I am an RN and get to hear about stuff like that, but everyone I know has had gastric bypass, so I have very little support. I have decided to go to Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey Mexico. He seems to have very good credentials and very low post op complications. Has anyone heard any bad things about him?

the Dr. I am looking into doesn't require much pre-op testing when a person is self pay. Is that normal?:guess

I was going through this same turmoil a while back. But I have come to the conclusion through prayer, if it will help me eat more properly, and in moderation, that is more along the lines of what the Lord wants for me. So I feel like I just need to pray for no complications at this point. Good luck.

Hello everyone, I am new, not banded and in the researching phase. Do you guys ever hear from bandsters that were done 6-7 years ago. I just wonder how most of them are doing? I am like most of you, really worried about paying for complications. Is it worth it?

Hi everyone, have been watching for several months. I am not banded, just going through many months of research. I am self pay like many of you and am looking at going with a WLS center in Kansas City. My biggest worry is if I have a complication and I have no money to pay for further surgery, what will happen to me. I don't know if my ins. company would cover a complication. Def. will not cover WLS. Anyway just wondering if anyone out there has heard of this kind of a scenario. thanks.
