  1. I received a card from my surgeon Dr. Billy and it is to allow me to order from the kids menu or a senior menu and it explains that I've had this surgery. Hopefully you are able to get ahold of one.
  2. you are very welcome, I hope you get a great nights sleep tonight and let me know how things go. I'm cheering you on here.
  3. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and will keep you in my prayers. I also pray that you will be together with your daughter Avery again really soon, I don't know what I would do if I were apart from my children. Keep your chin up things will all come together in the end.
  4. Hey there don't be too discouraged I had the same problems. It took me almost a year and a half for this. My BMI was 38 and then I did gain more weight and my BMI went up to 41. The insurance did approve me with the help of great office staff at my surgeons office. And I finally had surgery last Tuesday. I put all of my hope to God and my wish finally came true. I would go in and be weighed again, there is no harm in trying. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and best of luck to you...
  5. I will be a week post op tomorrow and I also find that my appetite is not so big. Although some points of the day I start getting really hungry but that eventually goes away. I also have a hard time getting enough calories in because I don't have that much of an appetite. So i'm right there with you.
  6. Oh my goodness the gas is going to kill me I think.. ugh. I've been pretty active though moving around chasing after my 3 kids two of which are toddlers, so being able to actually recoup is non existent once I came home from the hospital. Not to horribly hungry though which is a good thing. I have done so much around the house though that I am hurting now. Especially my low back, anyone else like that?
  7. I'll be cleaning you know doing the laundry mopping floors, all the normal household chores. As well as getting the kids things together and making a list for nana so she knows what to do with them... Can't wait for tomorrow though!!! Good luck to the rest of you and I will be thinking of all of you...
  8. i'm right there with you, i'm also being banded on the 15th and i'm terrified as well. I have had family members tell me the same thing that I should just diet or exercise, and they just don't understand, because its not hard for them. So I completely understand you and good luck....
  9. Hey there i'm scheduled for the 15th of July as well and i'm getting nervous. I have had numerous surgeries for different things but this seems to be different though. This one effects what I eat and how I eat, and at times I get confused so i'm right there with you... I luckily don't have a pre op diet only liquids for 2 days before surgery but I am gearing up for this believe me... Best of Luck to you and keep me posted on things.
  10. Hey everyone, just wanted to see if everyone else was as nervous as me. I'm getting banded on the 15th, just about a week from now and i'm getting really anxious for this. At times I wonder if I can do this, and when i'm eating i'm thinking should I be eating this, or i'm just plain confused about what I should be eating and calories and protein and what not.... ugh....Did anyone else or is anyone else feel like this???
  11. I'm being banded on the 15th, so i'm looking at the different protein drinks now trying to figure out which one as well. I went to GNC online and they have Isopure in a variety pack so I'm guessing I'll try that and hope its not too horrible... So much to think of at first, whew... Good Luck to you...
  12. I finally have a date for surgery, July 15!!! I can't wait I am so excited although I have to admit that i'm also a bit worried. I know I can do this, its just getting into my head and really convincing myself. I know this is going to be a whole new start to my life and I can't wait to be able to enjoy life with my husband and kids.... Wish me luck and I will keep you updated...:smile2:
  13. Yeah finally after a month I was approved I am so excited its like getting a whole second chance at life. Thank you to everyone who had good thoughts and fingers crossed for me. Still waiting for the exact date but its looking like the 15th of July... Yippee!!!!
  14. Hi everyone, I have been waiting for 3 wks for my auth, 1st was problems with the insurance lady at the drs office and then had to wait for her to get back from vacation. ugh.... Also had to wait to get chart notes and a letter from my general dr and from my GI dr. So now I hopefully will have an answer this week. My BMI is 40-41 right now and I also have high blood pressure, borderline diabetic, joint pain and heart problems. So we are all keeping fingers crossed that the approval goes right through. Keep me in your prayers everyone, please I can use all the help I can get.
  15. I have that problem as well, my BMI was at 39 so i'm currently gaining the few pounds that I need to gain to please the insurance company ugh, not really what I wanted to do. But in the end it will all work out. Good luck to you...
  16. Dr Billy is an excellent surgeon and his staff is excellent as well. I just attended one of his seminars but I also do know him from the local hospital as well. He does seem to be full of himself but all doctors are, aren't they? I am trying for insurance auth right now so that I can get the band done, and i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
