Laughing. I keep seeing the scene in the thomas crown affair. She pours a chunky green smoothie into a cup. He asks what's in that drink? She says "you don't want to know"

So, honestly, they weren't ALL bad choices! Plus, these look delish!
I'm not posting any more pics of my high crimes and misdemeanors in Tampa. The wine & grapes pic provided the basics. 😎 It only went downhill from there.

Ok, so don't know that I will take pics every day cuz I'm compelled to go in and color correct etc. And I don't have time or energy for that. LOL. Here was today's food. I'd post afters but they were clean plates. The thing about being AR is that I know how much I can eat by now. So I only serve what I can eat. I probably won't end up eating the BS cuz I finished dinner at 8pm and it makes no sense to try to eat again in 1 hour. But I did actually have 3.25oz of pork loin. Cals were well under 500 for the day and Protein was 67g which is fine. Carbs were under my limits as well and fat was fine too. OMG. I'm such a nerd.
Breakfast - Egg White Puff
lunch - Chopped Shrimp salad
Dinner - Roasted Pork Loin with Broccoli
Tomorrow is "Toosday" and is an UD. I will attempt 1000 cals that do not include a bunch of crap.

Those old behavior made you feel better in the moment. May be why you feel a bit sad to let them go.
All of us have behaviors to overcome to be successful long term. The good thing is you recognized you are stress /emotional eating. The next step is finding another way to cope without food. I'm sure there are many here that can give you ideas on what they do to cope. An option is to speak with a counselor/therapist.
Ways I cope:
Keep busy. I know the feelings will pass. It helps keep my mind off food.
Listing to music and going for a walk. I process mystress/ emotions while I exercise. Confronting life's issues has worked better for me than soothing them with food.
Hope you find what works for you.
Some things you may already know
Healthy snacking or more frequent meals that keep your calories and macros in weight loss range is fine.
Be mindful if you see yourself grazing. It's a common reason why people gain after surgery.
"Grazing" is a maladaptive repetitive eating pattern. Eating more frequent/ repetitive meals that put you over your calorie and macro goals. This can be a combination of healthy and unhealthy food choices. It is easy to eat substantial calories and gain weight. It's as if you never had surgery.

Healthy_life got a reaction from Frustr8 in Weight loss surgery advice needed
Most primary Dr's are supportive. You can always shop for a primary Dr that is pro bariatrics. A pre surgery supervised diet may be required by your insurance company or surgeons office. Call them to find out.
My experience:
My Dr was supportive. There is a process and hoops to jump through. It was all worth it. I had a six month weight loss requirement from my insurance company and a psych evaluation. The psych eval was straight forward not difficult to get through.
Seems like an eternity waiting. But honestly, I look back and all of this has been in a timely manner.

Healthy_life got a reaction from FluffyChix in Diet or no diet
Diet or no diet. Interesting question.
If you rely on surgery food restriction for weight loss you will be disappointed in your results. Eating whatever you want in Portion Control will not make your weightloss successful long term.
First stages focus on hitting your Protein goals not calories because your food intake is low
The first months of sleeve surgery is your best stomach restriction. Understand This will change as you progress out from surgery. In the months and years ahead sleevers can eat more food and tolerate most foods. This is why it's important to change behaviors and eat on your dieticians plan.

Healthy_life got a reaction from clsumrall in Hungry
The majority of us still feel hunger at times.
Real food stage : 4 oz of Protein and veggies at each meal. I eat as much veggies as I want. I eat four to six small meals a day. I keep them within my calorie and macro goals.
hope you find what works for you.
