So I did not disclose why I was going out on leave from work. Just said I was having some stomach surgery/gastric issues. So, my coworkers just sent me a beautiful edible arrangement. That’s what I get for not sharing. Thank goodness it doesn’t have chocolate covered fruit or I would’ve cried. But the fruit looks lovely and delicious. Hubby and kids will enjoy. I did snag some pineapple to freeze later on for my Protein smoothies. I still want to bite into that fruit though! (Sigh)

So my husband, who is as slim as they come, asked me nicely if I would mind if he did Chic-Fil-A for lunch while we were running errands. I didn’t want to be a drag so I told him sure. Now that is one of my favs. Their waffle fries and chic-fil-a sauce are AMAZING! So I sat and smiled and fought through all the feels while he and our toddlers ate fries and chicken nuggets and a grilled chicken sandwich while I sipped on my Water. It was probably the toughest moment so far Since the surgery. I have to say that I wasn’t that hungry so the hunger pains were minimal but I really wanted to just lick the salt off those fries. When the torture was over I felt like a new woman. I had conquered one of my previously fav fat girl places and I wasn’t angry. I was more like determined that I would never let food define me again. I thought “hey if I eat here in the future the grilled nuggets are an option”. I actually feel pretty darn good. Just thought I share.

Maybe call your doctor and see what they recommend. I’m only a week post surgery but was told if only be on the liquid/puréed food for 2 weeks then the next stage is regular food. If it’s really bothering you a call to the doc office will ease your mind.

No, I just called my doctors office for one. I’m hoping that’s what it is. It doesn’t matter the temp of the food or time of day. It happens if u sip Water in the middle of the It’s causing me not to want to drink anything so I know I’m nearing dehydration. My mouth is so dry.

Are you having weird squeezing/tightness with drinking? It’s hard to explain but I keep getting these weird squeezing sensations and bubbly feeling immediately after sipping pretty much anything except a Protein Shake. I just dipped in some homemade pea Soup and I felt like I had a rubber tube trying to escape out of my chest. Been having it since my surgery off and on. Just wondering when/if it will go away.

Had surgery the 2nd and the tightening is calming down. It was the worst with water.. like you Protein Shakes have been the easiest thing. This morning I had Greek yogurt thinned with milk in the blender. It was a bit foamy and that was not going to work.. I took about 4 sips and knew I had to stop bc it felt like it was going to come up but never did. Just had 1/2 c homemade potato Soup thinned and that was completely fine. So good!

Do you mind sharing those videos? Ever since having 2 babies back to back I’ve felt like my hips are out of whack. Would love to try something that relieves me of that feeling. Thanks so much!

LOL. I think it may just be my surgeon. He seems to be overly cautious. I’ll go about it at a slow pace. He said my surgery was routine and had no issues so I see no reason why I can’t exercise like everyone else. Thanks!

Thanks for responding. My husband is very supportive and it happened to be a situation that I’m sure I’m going to be in a lot whether it’s home or work. I’m glad I was able to overcome. This was not a negative situation and my family shouldn’t have to suffer because of my personal demons a.k.a food. If they occasionally want to indulge in chic-fil-a, which is the worst we do in fast food, then I have to be okay with that. If I was not okay I would’ve said no when my hubby asked and he would’ve eaten later without me or dropped me off. Either would’ve been inconvenient options so it is what it is. As for packing healthy Snacks it wasn’t that kind of party nor was that on my mind when getting 3 and 2 year old girls dressed and hair done to leave the house. My husband is my biggest fan when it comes to weight loss and this journey and I’m sorry if others don’t have a supportive spouse. That is simply not my case.

A week after my surgery my wife and visiting daughter were whispering in the kitchen. Turns out they were debating whether to order Chinese food or have some Soup. It turns out that they didnt want to eat Chinese food in front of me right after my WLS. Honestly, I couldnt eat anything and watching them eat Chinese food didnt make a difference. I was drinking liquids at the time and was having a difficult time just drinking liquids.
So, having family eating in my presence days after my WLS didnt make a difference. It’s a different experience for everyone

@tmrtyty2018 Good for you for being strong willed in that situation and respecting the fact that your family does not have to abide by the same rules you do. It's going to be tough at times but that's what makes us strong when it comes to re-learning how to eat healthy and not making poor decisions about our food choices. I applaud you!!!!
