I’m getting the sleeve 10/1. Starting at 255 and I’m 5’0. Your success makes me hopeful!!

Hey everyone! I finally got my dad to relax and my surgery is staying Oct 1!!! I will stay with him a night or two but only because his wife is insisting lol I told them I’d be fine at home but they don’t believe me. New issue :( My aunt who I’m very close to sat me down last night and said I’m making a huge mistake. Apparently trying to lose weight since I was a kid means I haven’t REALLY tried hard enough. I’ve been the same weight for years no matter what I try. Maybe I haven’t been strict enough with my diet and exercise but I feel that a lot of us have that issue and that’s why we need the extra push. She then went on to say that NO ONE keeps the weight off more than a couple years and I’ll be even more upset when I gain it back. I’m just so discouraged right now. My dad and two of his co workers had the sleeve about 7 years ago and they did gain back a lot.. but they aren’t me. I’m just a nervous wreck now. Thanks for listening :)

Having a dilemma that I hope you guys can help with. I’m currently scheduled for Oct 1 (yay!) last night my dad (who had a sleeve in 2011) called me and asked me to wait until after the new year... I’m so bummed. I wanted to have lost a good amount by then to start the new year off with a bang. His reasoning is that I’ll have to stay with him for a couple days post surgery (I live alone and he thinks I’ll need help — not sure on that one either) and he’s not ready. My brother is getting married the 22nd of Sept so it’s one thing after another. I told him I could see about moving the surgery a week or two but I really do not want to wait until next year. What do you all think? Am I being selfish? He admits to being selfish about this but I’m so ready and looking forward to my date.. it’s been a good year in the making! What would you do?

Oh gosh. They wanted to do that to me once and I declined lol. I’m sure it won’t be THAT bad :)

What is a ABG?? I did the barium swallow test thing and it wasn’t bad at all

Yeah it’s normal but still sucks! I actually had the band in 2012 and removed in 2015.. major problems. I just hope this one works better for me!! So glad I have this group to keep in touch with :) I bought a nectar sample pack — 17 flavors! They are by syntax and sound awesome.. I need to start trying.

I'm set for October 1st... freaking out a bit today but I have GAD so it's not unusual for me. I'm just worried I won't lose the weight or I'll be miserable or IDK I just am a worried wreck. Nice to have others to talk to that are going through the same thing!!
