Hrsnjs reacted to OhioSparkle in 4 months out and FRUSTRATED!!!!!!
Hello- I'm 4 months out RNY. I feel like a failure. I try to talk to my NUT but she isn't helpful. I'm not sure what to do. Hopefully there is someone here that will read this post and help me. I have not lost a single pound in over a month and a half. I'm not sure that I'm doing things right. Can someone show me a sample of their daily plan that includes 1000 calories? I'm starting to wonder if that's why I'm not losing weight, because I'm not eating even close to 500-600 calories. It's hard. A lot of things make me sick.... or I forget to eat because I'm busy 24/7.

I'm celebrating my second milestone: 200lbs. My first milestone was 250. My doctor said he'd be happy with a goal weight of 150. I'm hoping for 130.
How much harder is it to lose those final pounds? The first 100 just seemed to fall off. Am I incorrect to assume that my remaining 50-70lbs will be my most difficult hurdle? My assumption is based on nothing scientific or logical, just a gut feeling.

Got a Facebook memory today of me at my highest weight. It just happened to be a year ago today. I can't believe in one year I have lost 50 lbs! Y'all that's the equivalent of my dog! Of course 40 of that has been since surgery but I don't care! That's 50 lbs gone forever! Hopefully before 2020 it'll be 100 lbs! I just wanted to share, thanks for reading [emoji1]

    Great article.
I respect his decision not to have surgery. It's not for everyone.
He said "to me surgery feels like giving up" "12 step program is admitting your powerless over your addiction. I don't feel powerless yet" He has not found a point he feels powerless over obesity after fighting it from childhood into his 50's. Everything he said describes powerless to me.

I'd like my broken leg to heal, but putting on a plaster-cast feels like giving it up, taking the easy way out. No, I'll wrap it in bandages, and try not to walk on it as hard as I can.

I am so thankful for the continued weight loss after my bypass. I measure in 10 pound increments. Out of the 190’s and into the 180’s!

Mine was (roughly): 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months (ends up being 2.5 months), 6 months (more like 5.5 months), 1 year, then yearly after that if all is going well. I've done the 2 week and 6 week and so far I haven't had any blood tests. And the 6 wk/3mo appointments are with his nurse practitioner, not the surgeon. I like the schedule Ed_NW posted because it tells you what to expect and also lets you get your blood tests before hand. I suspect (but don't know) that the'll order blood tests at 3 months, but it'd have to be at the appt since I'm going on Friday.

UPDATE: Yep, I was definitely overthinking things
The dietician was so nice and very helpful. We talked for a good hour and a half and the best part is, she's down with keto! She said her main focus right now is to get me prepared for life after surgery like working on weaning off caffeine and mindful eating. Also, these dietician visits are free and unlimited even after surgery which is flippin' great! My mind is at ease now

Saxenda is specifically a weight loss drug. The lesser dose is prescribed as Victoza, and that is to help control blood sugar. In my case, Victoza was covered by insurance but Saxenda was not. So my doctor gave me an RX and sample pens to double the doses so I'd be getting a Saxenda dose. I took it for 9 months before surgery and lost about 35 pounds. It works as an appetite suppressant.

One surprising thing is that when you wake up, the pad may be GONE. Then again, so might your hospital-issued underwear.
Really it’s best to just view yourself as a car going into the shop. You’ve selected the best mechanics, they know what they have to do, they’ve encountered almost every quirk there is to encounter, and they’re going to return your car in working order and running a hell of a lot more efficiently.

Almost 10 weeks post-op and exactly 30 pounds down from surgery day and 40 down from pre-op.

I am really grateful to every single person that was a part of this process and couldn’t be happier with my progress.

I lnow some of us lose faster than others but we all must be very proud of how far we’ve come and how far we’ll get!

    Enjoy your weekend 😊
